This past weekend was a 'stay around the house' weekend to get a few things done...in between weekend trips to the mountains. I had no intention on any photography really, but I saw the forecast for early thick fog Sunday morning and thought I'd see what this local pine thicket would look like. It wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but I still liked the way it turned out. Crossing my fingers to find some good color in a few days in the mountains. Have a great week!
There was dense fog in the last morning of my departure from Lake Shoji. Mt. Fuji was hiding in the fog while the Moon and morning light glow through.
離開精進湖前的最後一個早晨,湖面濃霧,富士山隱藏在朝霧中,弦月與朝霞還是有種朦朧美!

A mere glimpse of the stunning Oregon coastline (and accompanying fog banks). This was taken in Florence, a unique area of windswept sand that is the result of millions of years of wind and rain erosion on the Oregon Coast. Although you don't see much of the dunes in this photo, they are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America.

It's interesting how making changes to the vantage point, focal length and the post-processing can create such differences with the original photo.
The intense week-long fog has started to lift.
The utter silence of the frozen lake shrouded in fog was breathtaking....

Getting up at 04:15 hoping to catch some fog before the sun rose was definitely worth it. I had the park to myself, I saw a great sunrise and could peacefully compose a few different types of images.

San Francisco morning fog. The fog season about to start the season. This was at Mt Tam to face the city with that little Sutro tower. The bridges weren't visible before the sunrise time.

I heard these geese long before I saw them. They were hidden in the fog until they suddenly burst out right in front of me.

A foggy night scene at the Byrd Visitor Center in Big Meadows provided me this unique view while I was waiting for morning to break. I used a tree to block the direct path of a floodlight while the fog filtered the rest of it for an 8 second exposure.
THANKS FOR VIEWING!
