ok, so no one was out there fishing, the weather got too warm in the last few days for people to be out on the ice, but it made for some cool looking fog over the lake!
That day I was aiming to capture Glastonbury Tor in background but fog was too dense . I took a photo of trees instead and very happy with this shot. If you look carefully you can see photographer on the left -bottom corner.

Lake Conway, Arkansas.
This shallow lake is full of Cypress trees. You can only see the one due to the late afternoon fog.
When I'm standing here taking in the scene, it's not the visual impact of the fog that I think of but the deep throated fog horn echoing across the bay.
When I saw the heavy fog in South SF today, I was hoping that Sausalito would be socked in as I still have several compositions in mind that require a lot of fog. Sadly, as I was crossing the bridge, the fog stopped at Fort Baker and the sun was shining bright over Sausalito. I took whatever I was given and rushed down to Fort Baker to grab a couple of shots.
All comments, critiques and feedback both positive and negative welcome.
Saw this sleepy bridge resting peacefully in the fog this morning and could not resist stopping the car to capture this.
We had Fog in the morning and then again in the evening. Something that I don't think I had ever experienced before. I just had to run out and get a shot! Mind you the temp. was 6c at around 6pm. Just a little fresh!
Sometimes at the coast, when it's been foggy most of the day, there's a interesting orangey glow infusing the foggy remnants during the hour or so before sunset. The Great Smokey Mountains got NOTHING on the Northern California Coast! ;-) Oh and this was the Fourth of July. ;-P
I came to this spot to photograph an industrial scene, which can barely be seen in the background through the heavy fog. Instead I got this shot of a train hauling limestone to a processing plant. Ironically, the industrial site is a place that produces white lime from limestone, and has its own quarry across the road. But I wanted to show the power of these locomotives for 117 pictures in 2017, #76 power/powerful.
NR96, NR26 and NR17 emerge from the fog at Oolong, with a late running 4MB4 to Brisbane.

...for a bit the sun came out and I got to see this before it closed back in.
At least the fog has cleared today ...
Happy New Year's to my Flickr friends!
