Auf dem Abstieg einer Wanderung, kam der Nebel immer höher, es reichte noch zum mich in die Stauden der Heidelbeeren zu legen und das festzuhalten. Wenige Minuten später war ich selbst im dicken Nebel. /
On the descent of a hike, the fog kept coming up, it was enough even for me to lay in the bushes of blueberries and hold the. A few minutes later I was even in thick fog.
Thank you very much for your visits, faves and kind comments :-)

The last two mornings, I left our home and beautiful blue skies at 8,500 feet of elevation to travel to the "flats" for work, and about half way down my 19 mile, 3,500 foot descent, the weather shifted to frost covered trees and heavy fog. Such beautiful silence and an air of mystery around every corner. Fortunately, there are plenty of spots to pull over and enjoy the views.
Eastern Maine Railway Train 910-16 cuts through the fog at Cedar Lake Road on 3/16/2025.
With some 40 or so cars in tow from Maine Northern, the crew will drop the rear of the train at the bypass, before running to Knights/Simpson to get recrewed by 121.

Taken near Hope Cross on a stunning frosty morning bike ride. Trying to capture the rays of light from the forest hitting the mist above the fog.
I've been trying to catch this shot for a while. I actually checked - more than 5 years of missed (mist) chances. Finally, this weekend - it all came to almost perfect setup.

Usual fog, when temperature is below zero, makes such beauty. Everything on street becomes a masterpiece of winter creation, every tree wears a suite with a many-many tiny cold crystals, like cactus wears needles.

The barbed wire on this fence could use a little tightening, but it still looks pretty good on a foggy morning with frosty trees around the curve. HFF

I traveled the back roads of the Bear Lake Valley, Idaho looking for frost to photograph. It is usually found where there has been freezing fog, but travel can be hazardous. When I reached the end of this dirt road I had to enter a busier road but couldn't see a thing. I had to roll down the windows and listen for traffic before pulling out. But even without the frost, I think the fog makes an atmospheric image.

A view of the road beside the park which is part the wetland area used by Melbourne Water to filter and clean the creek nearby. The cars going by had their headlights on though some only had them on low beam. Those cars were less visible in this thick fog. Fortunately the fog lifted fairly quickly but was part of the morning peak traffic.
