This beautiful specimen died in our front porch when out tutoring for a course about Australia tropical diversity in a cattle station near Charters Towers. When I saw how beautiful it was, i took this chance to try focus stacking of an insect with my new tripod and flash diffusing system. This is the result of stacking 15 images

Raided the toolshed this week for a subject for my image. As I moved the focus points I told my husband that he needs to clean his drills as in closeup they were pretty battle weary. Of course I picked the oldest drill set with a lot more character being coated in rust, or old paint chips and the like, rather than choose a newer set.
