Focus stacking, Laowa 25 mm, 1/40, F/16, 40 photos empillées, premiers essais

Experimenting with Focus Stacking.

This is a "silverfish" (Lepisma saccharina) of approx 4mm long.

Shot with a Laowa 25mm 2.5x-5x at 5X and F4.

I used the Cognisys Stackshot 3X at 20 micrometer intervals, 340 shots.

 

Two LED light sources, one from above and one camera left.

Stacked using Helicon Focus

Focus Stacking with 37 Images

The photos on the left are 3 of 12 photos focusing from back to front.

Bottom right is my best at F22 with focus just in front of half.

Photo top right is 12 photos stacked.

All photos are SOOC no other processing and stacked photo on default settings.

I had watched some oak moth caterpillars (and gave them Coast Live Oak leaves to eat). Here is a partly formed pupa and this organism was still moving slightly at this stage. Taken at 3.4:1 and focus stacked from 2 shots.

Recrystallised benzoic acid crystal structure viewed with crossed polaroids and a microscope. A 60 layer image made up from a 3 image panorama, each being stacked from about 20 images.

換個角度再拍一次櫻初音,雖然這個櫻初音價格不高,造型卻非常可愛。

但是TATIO在生產產品時,很多細節上的處理就沒那麼仔細了,只好用後製把一些瑕疵處理掉。

my first test at limited focus stacking (just 2 images). I think I'll like this method of expanding macro DOF.

4 photos with different focus points combined, used Combine ZP freeware.
