Strobist info: two Canon Speedlite, one with a blue gel aimed at a black background paper sheet and one on the left with a small softbox. Another white paper sheet is also placed at the top right to add come reflection in the water thin film. Colors are shifted in PP.
Fluid Art technique: a StopShot device with an electronic valve is used to produce the water drops with a very precise timing. Everything is frozen by the 1/30000s flash from the two Canon 580EX II Speedlite @ 1/64 or 1/128 power. Some thickener (Xanthan gum here) and surfactant (rince aid) is added into the water to produce amazingly shaped collisions. A lot of patience, practice and... luck is required as well: quite fun to do and sometimes frustrating :)

Spontaneous fluid acrylic painting - a tiny fragment of 50*70 cm big canvas, 2022
Third time's a charm. Finally, I got one painting that I could give away as a Valentine's Card. (I reuse the ribbon and the tag though.) Productive weekend for painting and I am so not ready for Monday. 😅
I recently started to learn some acrylic pouring techniques with a view to creating some nebula/space themed art. I really love fluid art because it's much freer than the kinds of art I usually do and it's almost impossible to plan what the final painting will look like!
This painting was created on a 30cm x 20cm canvas board using the Dutch Pour technique, with my paints mixed with Floetrol and water, no silicone added

Life on Venus (Phosphine) is painted on a 1" thick hollow core panel. The panel's corners are rounded. The painting is ready to hang when it leaves the studio.
They have detected phosphine in the Venetian atmosphere. An indication of life. We are in a pandemic on earth.

I recently created this abstract galaxy artwork using a fluid acrylic technique that uses a silicone funnel and a cake spinner. If you want to see how I created it, you can watch the video here: youtu.be/hMHJKnaKK_U
Inspired by the flow of the water yet restricted to straight edges in a similar way that a vessel contains liquid.
102 x 76cm. Acrylic on canvas.

My latest piece of space-inspired art is complete. This one is called "Ice World"
I used a dutch pour acrylic fluid art technique for the outside, and once that had dried I painted in the rest. It is inspired by a space art image from an encyclopaedia that we had when I little. I recently bought the book again off eBay and looking at the pictures in it really did make me feel emotional! About 3 weeks ago I saw a video on Molly's Artistry You Tube channel which made me instantly think of that painting and I knew I had to recreate it myself. It's not perfect, but I'm in love with it!

I finally had an art moment this week. Just pump air by hand over the ink to get the bubbly effect here.
So far this one took me the least amount of time to finish. I think a quick decision and a prompt action are quite necessary for this medium.

Practicing this for the upcoming birthday gift with my new 300W hair air styler, which I specifically bought for painting, not my hair!
After watching a couple artists showing how they created their work, I decide to give a hair dryer a try and it creates a softer blend compared to the embossing heat gun does.
Paper Size: 12"x18"
I've been experimenting with alcohol inks lately. I had them around for awhile and never got into them but decided to try the new trend of using them on black synthetic paper instead of white and just started making a bunch of test pieces, almost all of them failures (aside from the fact that I got some sweet detail photos out of a couple of 'em *wink wink*). This is a macro detail photo of an absolute and total couldn't-fail-harder-if-you-tried screw up which I will hopefully be making a timelapse slideshow of to post next.
