Contact. Reaching. Touching.
These can take many forms, from music, imagery, writing, acting and other forms of the spoken word. Humans have always tried to express themselves in some way, since first they daubed with dye and blood upon their cave walls, danced around their hearth-fires, or told stories of the hunt and of the spirits.
Those who are familiar with my stream know that I like to express myself with words as well as images, from time to time.
I entered, on a whim, a few short stories in a competition (as much as I hate competitions). Twenty minutes ago I learned that my short story Hands had won.

Philly Flickr Meetup - 2.19.12
Old City - Elfreth's Alley
Flickr Shootout
My favorite part of the meetup. Lots of fun, laughs, and photos.
Wow! I was featured on the Flickr Blog! Much thanks to Holly and Markus for organizing and hosting the meetup. It was a wonderful afternoon!
Also #72 in Explore on February 20. Awesome! Thanks everyone!
We had a great time in Yosemite and when I think back now, these three days in the park seem like only three minutes. It was my first time there (unlike for everyone else in our awesome flickr bunch) and I took a gazillion of pictures...often taking a shot of the same spot over and over. I don't know why...probably because as the light changes slightly, you feel like the next shot will be THE ONE. And then the next one...and the next one. So I have something like 50 shots of this reflection. Sometime - if you don't behave - I'll upload all of them. At once. It was also great to meet everyone - old flickr friends and new ones. And it was even greater to learn that everyone is even better in real life than on flickr pages. No disappointments!
This, I think, is upper Yosemite fall. If I am wrong, someone will correct me. I think by now I can easily identify the Half Dome and El Capitan when I see them, but a lot of other places are a blur. Hopefully I'll go back one day and have a chance to work on that. Two more versions are in the comments. And I will try to catch up with your streams over the next couple of days!
I didn't go inside, but this is the Pond Store...the last tidbit of civilization before you enter the Clark Creek Natural Area, where Tunica Hills is located.
See the Geo-tag for the general location...I couldn't find the specific area on the map...(=P

Shot takenduring recent visit to Rohtas by PPG Members North and Central Command.
This is also from a few weeks ago when I visited Moritz for the weekend and we took lots of photos in the beautiful field!
I just realized that the two of the last photos I posted have been taken from above... I guess I like that at the moment ;)
About 15 courageous and completely addicted flickrites who got up today at 5am to watch the sunrise.
Thank you, my friend JB, a.k.a. jmpboia for organizing this meeting and making me get up so early! :-)
It's now 4pm and I'm going back to bed...
Taken as a part of Helsinki Photography Walk. Join us if you happen to live in Helsinki Region or are just visiting :)
Taken in Helsinki Photography Walk goes to Suomenlinna. If you happen to live close to Helsinki, Finland or plan to visit us, please join us on Meetup.com and in Flickr =)
Last week the beautiful Anna came by for a few hours and we took some photos in newly found locations close to me! I hadn't taken any photos for ages and it was so lovely!! I bought the flower head band a few weeks ago when I was in Bournemouth and had been waiting for a chance to use it :)
Subconsciously inspired by this wonderful photo of Erica.
During our Los Angeles flickrmeetup I found this pueblo/mission right across the street. Took me a few times to get no cars passing by, but eventually got this.
I had the BEST DAY EVER. (My first) Flickr meetup!
I was so happy to finally meet these three incredibly talented photographers: Andrea, Moritz and Stefan. I'm pretty sure you all know them but if not GO AND CHECK THEIR STREAMS. (Yes, right now!)
We took pictures all day long so I'm pretty exhausted now, but I couldn't resist uploading this straight away :)
What Moritz did for us was simply amazing. The water was so freezing cold and he stayed in there for such a long time.
I can't wait to see you guys again ♥
I got to go on a late night shoot on Dec 9th with Victor
and
and learned a lot and had fun! Bravo, and Thank You!
also thanks to ar'alani and the pdx [portland] gang for making me so welcome... I really enjoyed that a lot.
On this shot, I just reprocessed it a bit on Piknic, tell me what you think honestly... this is a real learning curve for me...
I bet that title's not been used on a photograph before!
I'm not really sure this works but as I've said before, I do like reflected buildings.
A lot of the people in our group took shots of this railing from their own perspective. You can see some of them at: flickr.com/groups/wichita/pool/
Taken at our 4th Baton Rouge Flickr Meet-up at Tunica Hills, on the border of Louisiana and Mississippi.
Please check out the SET!!!...^+^
I took this photo of Anna a long time ago, last autumn at the first meetup of Anna, Moritz, Stefan and me. We went to these castle ruins and the boys took self portraits and Anna and me were really cold and didn't really do much there (which was a pity cause the location was so great!). When I looked through my old photos yesterday, I found this one and thought I could make something dramatic out of it. I remember that I had this image of a princess waiting for her knight when I took the photos so that is what I went for. This is a very different edit for me but I want to go more in this direction in the future. Thank you for Moritz and Stefan for throwing the fabric in the air so many times until I was happy :)
3 more days until the Obacht! is happening in Munich where I am exhibiting so come by if you're in town!
