EMERGENCY RADIO ROOM
Radio is essentially a "broad" cast. The Emergency Radio Room is a flexible station that can send out signals widely, in contrast to the military's point-to-point radio transmissions.
The Emergency Radio Room was established in 1984 by Emergency Preparedness Canada (EPC), which was concerned with the ability to maintain radio communications solely through the use of CFS Carp's military radio systems. The more flexible licensed Amateur Radio (Ham) Station and commercial radio equipment allowed for communication on a variety of frequencies. This backup communication system helped to keep CFS Carp in contact with other provincial bunkers across Canada.
