The fishing fleet in the middle of the night. I had to use a very fast setting on my camera because the light illuminating the vessels is merely the street lighting on the pier and from the town.
PACIFIC OCEAN (June 19, 2011) – Flight Deck Director Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Resty Amo from Manila, Philippines directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk from the “Island Knight” of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HSC) 25 on the flight deck of the forward deployed nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) during a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) with Military Sealift Command’s Dry Cargo and Ammunition Ship USNS Amelia Earhart (T-AKE 6). George Washington began its summer patrol on June 12, 2011, departing its forward operating base of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Onboard are more than 5,500 Sailors from George Washington and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5. George Washington's mission to patrol the western Pacific, work with regional partners and help ensure security, stability and respond to any crisis across the operational spectrum as directed. WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 26, 2011) – An SH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Wild Cards of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23 lands on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) to refuel during a replenishment at sea with Military Sealift Command fast combat support ship USNS Bridge (T-AOE 10).
