You could view the Fleet Week Parade in Manhattan at Pier 84 or get a ticket from Intrepid Museum to view the parade at Pier 86. Both piers are next to each other. Pier 86 is where the Intrepid Museum docked. Pier 84 is a public area, and everyone could go there. Pier 86 is not. You need a ticket to get in. I got the ticket from Intrepid Museum and viewed the parade at Pier 86. They provided free light refreshments, fruit salads, Danish pastry, coffee, tea and juice, etc. Light music was broadcast for relaxation before the Fleet Week Parade sailing by. USS Bataan, LHD-5, (Amphibious assault ship from Norfolk, VA) was the first ship to arrive. Then followed by HMS Protector (United Kingdom), and Yard Patrol Boats (from US Naval Academy). The weather was nice and sunny. It’s good for outdoor activities.
