Each year, our floating fleet is moved to and from St. Michaels harbor for winter's haven. This is Delaware, heading back to her summer slip.

Fans of Michael Moorcock (Mother London) might recognize this as the place where Mary Gasalee spent much of her childhood, and where she visits in the 'Land of Dreams'.

Holborn viaduct was built in 1869 to connect Holborn with Newgate street.

To the North of the Viaduct, Farringdon road was constructed over the Fleet in the 1840s. To the south, the river had been covered as early as the 1730s and the Fleet Market built on top.

Members of the Angus branch of the Fleet Air Arm Association were shown aboard the carrier HMS Ark Royal at Rosyth in October, 2001. Arranged by John Cresswell, the visit started with coffee and biscuits in the Wardroom with two officer guides and the ship's commander, who were grilled by the visitors on various topics, such as the modern navy and the introduction of female personnel at sea. Some of the party, who had served on previous ships of the same name, were surprised how small, by comparison, the then current vessel was. In the photograph were, from left - Jack Edward, John Williams, Arthur Wallace, John Cresswell, Brian Wildish, Alan Wedge, Ken Pryce, a visitor from Edinburgh, Roy Butcher, Des Mardle, another Edinburgh visitor, Commander Greenwood, Commanding Officer Air Engineering; Peter Upton and Dickie Laws.

Fleet Week, San Francisco, 2011. Taken near the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog lifted just half an hour to 45 minutes before the Angels flew. But we missed photo opportunities people in other micro-climates in the city took advantage of.
