It's been a while since a coffee shot. I travelled to Singapore and I had the opportunity to try some good coffee. Now Singapore hasn't been renowned as a coffee destination, but the metamorphosis has been remarkable. One week is not long enough to cover the all the great cafes that have popped up over the last 18 months. One cafe that I had my sights on was, Nylon Roasters. Nylon is purely about coffee. It's a small area with a communal table with no chairs. Choices? Well there's little, either an espresso or flat white in 3, 5 and 7 ounce cups. I enjoyed my 5 ounce flat white and quick escape from the humidity and heat. For an express caffeine gratification Nylon Roasters is definitely a destination.

It's been a while since I took out the M8 with the 28mm Summicron, gives a 35mm equivalent on the crop. Such a great lens I need to use it on film more but it sort of sits between the usual 35mm I shoot and the 21mm I use for wide. I need to pair it with a 50mm as the wide for that set.
Flat white at 17:35, only 2.5 hours to go until I finish! :)
We work for Yorkshire Ambulance Service in and around the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire.

A very good " Flat White " with a biscuit to nibble on.
For the purists there is a lot to a flat white. Including but not limited to the following :-
1. Velvet micro-foam instead of stiff froth.
2. Medium size, bigger than a macchiato or cortado but smaller than a latte.
3. Double shot so the coffee does most of the talking, not the milk.
4. Free poured milk so that the foam is folded through the whole drink and there is no discernable layer separation between liquid coffee and foam. This also helps preserve the crema.
And that’s just the basics of being a Flat White, let alone a good one. A good flat white is all about packing as much taste as possible into a small package.
... courtesy of Tim and his new espresso machine (and the new set of cups he treated himself to). It was very tasty!
Had a lovely relaxing day today. Got a few bits and pieces sorted, including packing away the Christmas tree and all the decorations, and packing for my return to Somerset tomorrow - but also had a good rest.
