So, my first attempt was a success. Given I was attempting to document the event with camera in one hand and coffee tools in the other, I think it came out surprisingly well. I'm not ready to be scrutinised by the judges of the Evvvvs House of Coffee Connissuers just yet.
What I've learned already.
- Milk needs to be hotter. Thermometer on the way.
- Coffee grind is important. I KNOW the grind I currently have is not sufficient but it's all I had at my disposal. New grinder is on the way.
- Messy - I must perfect the post apocalyptic clean up much sooner than current scheduling.
Other than that, I might go make me another cuppa. Ooops, dangerous.
Flat white coffee at the 'Salt and Light Fusion Cafe', Victoria Avenue, Chatswood - just near the Chatswood Interchange.
Served with smashed avocado, poached egg, bocconcini, heirloom tomatoes, beetroot dip, and za'atar spice.
And a passionfruit tart!!
Now this is a "fusion" cafe.
Photographed today, Friday 4th September, 2020.

Today was another photographically uninspired day. It left me staring at the remains of what was an excellent flat white and contemplating the meaning of it all.
Well, I've photographed Starbucks coffee before, but not with my SLR camera and piggies with it.... so I guess it counts? ^_^
Also, I used a different lens (a 40mm Pancake Lens) than normal since taking that bulky macro lens would be a bit too heavy to carry around.

My friend, Rick, is coming through to Glasgow this weekend for hang time. I like spending time with Rick because he ticks all the friendship boxes this girl could need; video games, photography, coffee and food. I made a list of things I want us to fit into the weekend.
P.S. I have really bad handwriting.
P.P.S. My vacuum has broken and this upsets me greatly. It's why my floor isn't spotless.
It's always a pleasant surprise when trawling my lightroom archive to find a picture that I'm happy with using no edits. This is made slightly easier thanks to the film simulations that are in fujifilm cameras. This here random shot of my coffee on the way to work that day. I love how the light is reflected differently in the wood, the ceramic, and the milk.
I actually tend to shoot my Fujifilm camera set to B&W in the view finder - I find it helps me concentrate on the composition more once I've decided to take the shot, even if I know it'll be a colour photo later.
the establishment is called Flat White
it's got to be renamed to Stretched Black if you ask me

Trip into Manchester City centre today armed with 5cm Nikon Rangefinder 5cm f1.4 with the brilliant Amedeo adapter. The opposite throw of focus really doesn't bother me at all.
Featuring a TomA me IXMOO rapidwinder and yin-yang softie with Cameraquest quick rewind accessory.

We may have popped in at the Penny Pot Cafe for a tea and flat white on our way round the valley..!
