Here's a flat white. A thin layer of foamed milk. I think this is still a bit thick, but it will do. My friend said it will do; that's high praise!
In my book, a flattie should be served in a ceramic 'tulip' cup. I don't have one, so this glass will have to do. And I am happy to accept that it was invented in Australia; Wikipedia attempts to muddy the waters ('it came from UK in the 50s' - what nonsense).
Although the warm weather may have disappeared from all living memory here in the UK its been replaced by the most lovely overcast skies creating some good even light.
This was taken at Seasons Cafe & Deli aka our usual haunt before the weather turned single figures cold. Incidentally this was also Eggs first official walk!
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose soldiers were known as Anzacs. The pride they took in that name endures to this day, and Anzac Day remains one of the most important national occasions of both Australia and New Zealand.
The pubs and bars in Sydney opened at 5am with lines outside them in the morning. I decided to have a Big Aussie Breakfast instead.

The "flat white", the core of the New Zealand coffee scene. This is somewhere between a cappucino and a latte, close cousin of the Cortado or Gibraltar. Needless to say I made it a point to quality check each and every cafe within sight.
Today another flat white and the S3 Olympic with a "standard" Black 5cm f1.4 and the S2 with a 21mm Voigtlander f4.
If you must know, and I would want to, the Olympic is loaded with Kodak XX 5222 which I rewound and then loaded some ORWO N74 in another Nikon cassette, the S2 has Ilford/Harman Kentmere 400.
The month is progressing well, I'm shooting in anticipation of rain, rarely disappointed, still more lenses to exercise, it's keeping track that's the problem.
