The last flat whites outdoors (in self-isolation) for 2020, with hopes for a better 2021.

Toby's Estate coffee.

This afternoon at Piccolo Cafe, Redleaf Avenue, Wahroonga, in northern Sydney.

Plus three Vietnamese rice paper rolls at this amazing 'fusion' cafe.

A latte for my friend and a cortado for me ☕☕

Omnom and yummy in all its simplicity 😁

A nice conversation and a nice drink is often the best I know of, sharing is caring ❤

.....and enjoyed in Albuquerque.

Hooray we found Costa Coffee in Albuquerque albeit in cans. Sadly, there are only 2 Costa Coffee stores here in the US both in Atlanta and that's too far for me to go.

I find that strange as Costa was sold in 2019 to The Coca-Cola Company in a deal worth £3.9bn.

Come on Coca Cola Company give Stabucks a run for their money and open Costa stores please. For now I can only hope while enjoying it in cans.

There is only one Firestone.

Arguably the best coffee in Sydney.

Well, actually, there is also a Firestone at Eastwood and Marrickville, lol.

So it's morning tea time here at Hornsby, in northern Sydney.

And we have stolled over to the nearby Hornsby Westfield, where there is the glorious Pattison's Patisserie.

And here you can discover their speciality 'Lemon Tart', together with a flat white coffee with Pattison's own blend of coffee beans from Ethiopia and Colombia.

There is no better lemon tart in Sydney, and their coffee blend is brilliant. Roasted locally at Mt Ku-ring-gai, in northern Sydney.

Was just one of those days when I needed a decent cup of coffee ☕

I am the witch and there's nothing you can do. Who wants under my spell?

Still obsessed with light and shadow, and really loving how this turned out.

After an early start from Haymarket to North Queensferry intent on snapping the Forth Bridge for the first time, I eventually found I had thirty minutes to spare before making my way back to the station for the return train.

So, what better then than head to Rankin's Cafe on Main Street for a cuppa, a slice of carrot cake, and not so shabby a view either?

With the camera held to eye at least a couple of minutes before this one was due, the locals (and it was a full) probably thought it odd behaviour even for a Sassenach, but I did manage what turned out to be a bonus shot where, even more happily, the twinkle lights on the tree were 'in phase' for this frame.

The train is Scotrail's 9.41am Edinburgh Waverley - Glenrothes with Thornton (2K07) in the hands of a class 170 Turbostar.

This image was captured for the Macro Mondays theme: "coffee".

From a concept that originally involved cappuccino froth texture and a first attempt at in-camera multiple exposures, I decided that I instead preferred this simple single image.

Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters

A flat white coffee - today - Wednesday, 30th September, 2020.

At the Toby's Estate flagship store, 32-36 City Road, Chippendale, inner city Sydney.

Right opposite Victoria Park with a view across to the historic 19th century buildings of Sydney University.

All the coffee roasting is done here at the Chippendale store.

This, in my view, is the best coffee in Sydney.

Having explained why a 'flattie' is meant to be served in a tulip cup, I was presented with this. It's a bit 'short' because the tulip cups in this establishment are bigger than I think they need to be. The latte art is not the company standard, by the way. The drink itself was delicious. I shall go there again.

Coffee is the most important meal of the day 😉☕!

Today I walked from Cherrybrook to Turramurra to attend the monthly meeting of the Australian Geranium Society. Today's theme was scented or fragrant geraniums. I carted my coconut scented geranium all the way, as my contribution to the Society's theme. The secretary of the Society, and one of Australia's foremost experts on geraniums for 42 years, Robyn Bible, spoke today about fragrant varieties of geraniums and their origins in South Africa. She is a fascinating speaker and is an absolute guru of geraniums.

Anyway, I was returning home on my mega marathon walk back from Turramurra to Cherrybrook, when I decided to call into this hipster cafe at Hornsby and check it out. My son advised me not to go to the 'Firestone Cafe' because, as he stated in a flat tone, "You're not hip - it is a cafe for cool people of my age'. He is 24.

So therefore I was especially determined to go there, and indeed there was a cool ambience with BTS's 'Dynamite' (No. 1 world-wide on iTunes and Apple Music) on all speakers as well as the video screen - but I thought I blended in quite okay. And I even talked to some of the "hipsters" about fragrant geraniums!!

And the lemon tart was super cool.

I got back to Cherrybrook as the sun was setting and the kookaburras were laughing in the nearby gum trees. The coconut scented geranium is also safely back home, reunited with its apple, nutmeg, lemon and lime fragrant friends.

Have a great week!

Que tengan una hermosa semana!

Industrial strength 'Flat White Coffee' at the very rustic Beanmeister Cafe, in Salisbury Road, Castle Hill. Coffee from 'Black Drum' roasters. Awesome.

The furniture is sourced from old factories and warehouses. Watch out for nails.

Hard-hitting top-of-the-line coffee from a seriously wicked cafe in the north-west of Sydney.

My latest read from Phillipa Gregory-one of her older novels but as a keen gardener and history buff it's of double interest to me ...

"I photograph good coffee in good cafes"

The beverage is prepared by pouring steamed milk consisting of small, fine bubbles with a glossy or velvety consistency over a shot of espresso.

A flat white traditionally does not incorporate latte art.
