Yes, another monochrome flat lay from my kitchen. Hope you all aren't getting bored with these because I having fun with my color/food theme.
Today's lineup - feta cheese, white eggs, kosher salt, parmesean cheese, garlic, basmati rice, mini marshmallows, cream cheese, great northern beans, sugar, quinoa, bread flour
Een van de dingen die mijn moeder vaak zei.
Het gezegde betekend dat een meisje bescheiden en ingetogen hoort te zijn. Achteraf vreemd want mijn moeder was zelf een geëmancipeerde vrouw.

Literal translation:
GIRLS WHISTLING AND COWS MOOING ARE NO GOOD
One of the things my mother used to say.
The saying means that a girl should be modest. In retrospect, it was strange because my mother was an emancipated woman herself.
A little last minute photo prop idea I added to my grocery basket while waiting in line at the store. Tulips are up there as a favourite of mine. After a busy day they came in handy for my photo.
I hope you all had a great day!
Today's photo is a flatlay of some of the ingredients needed to bake an oatmeal crisp for our dessert tonight.
Sunday supper at my house is usually a more thought out and bigger deal than the other weeknight meals. The meal might be a roast of beef or a chicken or a ham or lasagna, etc. Sunday is also the day we would have some of our family over and when you have guests over for dinner it is only right that you offer them dessert too! :))
We did not have any guests today. But we enjoy a good meal too, with dessert included!
Happy Sunday to you. I hope you had a great weekend!
I’ve always admired certain Flickr photographers for their discipline and talent in putting still lifes and flatlays together in a visually pleasing order.
The delicate pastel hues of Judi Mays’ flatlays, Cindy’s superbly orchestrated still lifes, Ant Maclean’s carefully constructed tableaux...me on the other hand I can’t seem to find those weather blasted and distressed, flaky paint, bits of wood or sea washed driftwood.
Apologies to those whom I’ve failed to mention but these guys are the ones that standout in the one brain cell that I laughingly call my memory.
So, I’m making do with tracking down other people’s window display efforts, usually junk shop ephemera. I imagine it’s not as satisfying as putting those items together oneself but at least there’s no clearing up afterwards. 😉
Well here’s my latest find, Cathedral Quarter Collectibles shop right here in sunny Derby.
Err, just to let you know, the Lion isn’t real.
Day 2 of my 31 days of Lensbaby
A rummage through my Christmas craft stash for these berries and then some vintage bits and bobs for a festive flat lay...when all else fails

I was deadheading the scabious and thought these were too pretty to just go on the compost. So here they are in a flat lay and I hope to get still more use from them. I made the seed packet and the tag.
I placed an orange film, from the Omni rainbow pack, in front of the lens to give it more of a vintage look.

Try a nature reset. You’ll be glad you did!
This Blythe doll is Hello Arden for “Nature Reset” and “Animal Kingdom”. This is a flat lay, and the background is a poster.
This was my first time baking cake donuts and they turned out to be pretty good. These days I prefer baking and decorating sweets over eating them. 💕
Whether you celebrate Valentine's Day or not, I hope you had a love-ly day. Thanks for your visit. 💕
312/365: I love how the hydrangea ages. I always keep some dried flower heads and petals...for a rainy day.
My grandmother had a sewing machine she used for alterations. My mother also had a sewing machine. I learned at a young age to use my mom’s sewing machine to made a few pillows out of scrap fabric.
I loved being creative from a young age and once I got to middle school would frequently use my elective credits for Home Economic classes. I continued to take those classes through high school. I got good enough sewing to make myself a few shirts and a 3-piece suit. When I graduated high school, the Home Ec. Department awarded me with a small Home Ec. Scholarship (the first boy in the history of my school to earn one).
My grandmothers sewing supplies were passed to my mom. And when my mom stopped sewing, she gave me her machine and sewing box. This collection of buttons likely has a few buttons over 60 years old. My grandmother would have been tickled to see this photo.
I never through out a button. You never know when one will come in handy! (I have the same philosophy for spare nuts, bolts and screws)

It's been pouring with rain all day so looked for things to photograph indoors. I don't know why these things are still laying around here.

I have missed doing a white high key image and thought these stocks lent themselves to just that.
Lensbaby Trio 28 Velvet. This lens is rarely off my camera these days...not that I'm using it much but I guess once a week is a start.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Two dozen decoratively frosted sugar cookies gifted to us by our 4 daughters for recent wedding anniversary celebration. Photographed few of them on a black canvas background for posterity...then promptly ate them...
Lately, I've had the BIGGEST craving for homemade chocolate chip cookies, which are my favourite kind of cookie. I love to bake but really haven't done much of that since Christmas. So I fixed that problem and I also got my photo of the day done too. 😉
Thanks for your visit! I hope you all had a great day!
Just another quick flat lay. Nothing too exciting but it does include fun autumn colours, a bit of bokeh and coffee, so I won't complain.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

This is my focaccia on its own, so it can be viewed large to see the details. I think it's pretty cool, if I do say so myself, lol!

The October challenge is to take a photo each day for the whole month. Why not join in the fun and get those creative juices flowing? October is a good month for those lovely autumnal/fall colours and don't forget the spooky side of things...and pumpkins, so many pumpkins!
I'd love to see you there...here is the link to the group:

I found this old, dry branch, broken off by the wind and looked for something to combine it with. Finally I had the idea to add some young, green leaves as a contrast.
