Flatbed wreckers are fun. And yes, there is someone in the driver's seat up there.
The MC-12 isn't too bad - it's a 96" wide coach, 41' long, and fits pretty well on most big truck wreckers out there. The 102DL3 and G4500, on the other hand...
i spent two years and 11 months, and 270,000 miles with this truck. 2000 model year; 460 hp M-14 Cummins; 13 speed. This was taken on my last day with it. A great first truck. Lots of power - and a bit of a beasty - not fully tamed. She could turn around and bite you if you weren't paying attention! But a great handling truck. Good road feel. On a bumpy road this girl was a handful, but on a smooth road... Oh baby, this was a sweet rig on a smooth road. Reminded me in that respect of a '67 MG I once owned. Believe it or not.
My Peterbilt cabover, only a 2000 but yea, old school. Long 'drom deck' behind the cab, big enough to set up camp on. I actually have cooked on it and used it as a porch. This was taken in 06, now she has better than 600,000 miles on her. Not quite as shiny - but a new bumper. No more rust. this was taken off Route 138 about 10 miles east of the 5 freeway.
Here's the Cruiser as Purcell was hauling it away on his flatbed. We could not get the tires aired up and we had to jump it. Purcell was a champ!
