Day 7 (100 Mile House, BC. to Seattle, Washington. 370 miles).
Bodie, California. It would seem obvious for most people that climbing on this old truck would not be a good idea. However, there are those who need a sign advising them to not climb on the truck. The sign only stops the ones who can read and who actually care about preserving such a relic.
Rust adds so much character. Interesting green light over the windshield remaining from a set of three lights. I am guessing that this may date back to about 1935.
Sorry, I uploaded a different photo earlier and decided I liked this one and this crop better. I'm not really excited about the photos I took but for all the huffing and puffing walking back up the hill from the creek, I figured I had to upload something.
A photo of Flatbed Falls, near Tumbler Ridge, taken a few years ago. I don't think I will get a better photo because people seem to think it is ok to leave their garbage behind here and it is tough to take a clean shot now.
This was at the "Truck Stop" in Show Low, Arizona, USA.. A fun place of different foods, drinks, bands, arts, crafts, and games. The theme is old trucks and they are parked all around with many being used as seating, stage, or decoration.

A beast of an 8x4 only matched by an amazing Volvo F12 i caught in 2013 which i coincidentally think also belonged to them.
And also the end of this series of photos from the MFA company.
I can't believe its been a few years since I walked down to Flatbed Falls, so on the spur of the amount I packed my camera bag, bear spray included and told my son I was off for a short hike. 'If I don't text you in 4 hours, come with a search party'.
I don't recall any bear sightings along the short hike down to the falls, so it is one of the trails that I'll venture out on alone. The only worrying thing is that it is quite steep and if an old man ever sprained an ankle, it would be a tough walk back up.
I used a variable ND filter, resulting in an exposure of 6 seconds at f16, ISO 100. The color balance looks a little on the cool side, do you think? I used to always correct the color balance too warm I believe and now I don't like the look of those photos. Any opinions on how this looks?
Oh yeah, I made it back safely... obviously. Just an asthma attack from the steep walk back up from the creek bed.
In the midst of an overhaul, there are a lot of parts missing from the rear half of USSC 502. Among other things, the new prime mover is to the left and the locomotive's long hood is sitting on the ground off to the back right.
The shop tour was organized by the FEC Historical Society.
