Peterbilt 379 and Flatbed 18 wheeler in Truth or Consequence ( T OR C ) the county seat of Sierra County NM
I saw this and pulled my camera out immediately! I think it's so cool! It's an old Toyota Uhaul truck with the box replaced with a wooden flatbed.

The REO Motor Car Company was a Lansing, Michigan-based company that produced automobiles and trucks from 1905 to 1975. At one point the company also manufactured buses on its truck platforms. REO was initiated by Ransom E. Olds during August 1904. Olds had 52 percent of the stock and the titles of president and general manager. To ensure a reliable supply of parts, he organized a number of subsidiary firms like the National Coil Company, the Michigan Screw Company, and the Atlas Drop Forge Company. Originally the company was to be called "R. E. Olds Motor Car Company," but the owner of Olds' previous company, then called Olds Motor Works, objected and threatened legal action on the grounds of likely confusion of names by consumers. Olds then changed the name to his initials. Ironically, Olds Motor Works soon adopted the popular name of its vehicles, Oldsmobile.

Proving that generics can sometimes be VERY appealing is the latest Matchbox MBX Flatbed King which seems to have got many collectors very excited indeed! Had it not featured any working parts then I'm sure I would still have bought several as that Euro style cab they've used before looks utterly contemporary and thus believable. If you need to save money on licensing costs then this is certainly the way to go!
The one feature which has got everyone in a frenzy is the rear bed which literally slides right back and down to enable a suitably sized model to be driven on to the back of it. Its hardly world breaking technology but for a basic MBX its definitely a step in the right direction where working features have dried up alarmingly in the past decade in the name of cost saving. Bought recently from an ASDA who unexpectedly had just put out a fresh case of K Batch stuff. Mint and boxed.
