Flat Stanley on the "Mother Road" at Hackberry General store, Rt 66, Hackberry, Arizona. While traveling historic Rt 66 in AZ,Stanley had to stop & get a cold drink & buy some souvenirs.

It has been more than 30 years since it was constructed, completed and used by tenants. This flat is quite a prominent building as a significant landmark in Kuala Lumpur, or at least a place to refer to in Kg Baru.

Everyday stuff in Panama. Last year we had flats 2 or 3 times in my mom's Rav4

You'll need to view this large to see some of these...from the left: sand extraction; remains of tree (not many trees in the fens so we like to keep them even when they've gone manky); wind farm; apartment-block-sized stacks of 'stuff' (it's either bales of unused straw or empty packing crates); line of trees in the distance (they're always in the distance - I think they run away when you approach them); flock of black birds (rooks - you'll definately need to view this large to see that ;) they're on the field immediately below the stacks); strip of bare soil - that's the black stripe. So far all typical fenland scenery - the one thing not normally associated with the fens is the row of animals grazing in front of the sand pile...

Llamas.

Honestly

Didn't notice them myself 'til I zoomed in :)

West Cliftonville near Margate.

Now the dedicated home to hundreds, possibly thousands, of Eastern European Migrants and Romanies. The many old hotels, bed and breakfasts and guest houses that used to throb with holiday makers along these roads are now in the main used as flats for migrant workers.

It's not a slum, but it is starting to have that feeling of a neglected ghetto.

Andersen's Wharf 2004

A frontier center of traffic and communications. First known settler, Richard Coffey, lived here in 1860's, except in weeks when pioneers banded together in Pickettville Fort (NW of here) for protection against Indians.

This was on the "Wire Road" -- so named because it followed telegraph line operated by U.S. Army Signal Corps between Fort Concho and Fort Belknap in the 1870's. Also in 1870's, Flat Top was a change station on Fort Concho-Brownwood Stage route.

Name of the settlement came from a flat-roof stone building standing here in early days. (1969) (Marker No. 4792)
