Flat Stanley & Grampi check in at the Inova Fairfax Cancer Center for radiation treatment of Grampi's Melanoma. Grampi has been having pain in his hips and pelvis and had trouble walking and sitting sometimes from the pain. Radiation may help zap some of the Melanoma Cancer in Grampi's hips and pelvis which will stop some swelling that is causing part of the pain.
Grampi will get 10 radiation treatments from the great folks at the center. It is always nice to be greeted with a big smile! They have Grampi's picture on their computer so everyone will know who he is (:>)
They gave Grammy & Grampi a special parking pass to allow them to park for free in special parking spots for Radiation Oncology. You will see some helpful pictures later.

When I was growing up, I just assumed that all cities had vast expanses of scrubby desert interspersed among housing developments, shopping centers, and industrial parks. More sophisticated people may scoff, but it is great fun to watch critters who live on those patches venture into the oases to cool off during the day -- including these bunnies. It was about 110 that day, and I bet cool grass felt good on their fluffy tummies. Desert critters are fond of flattening themselves onto the ground to stay cool.
