Flashlight.

A Little Long Light--in anodized Titanium, powered by a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery.

These were little fish that had bright lights under their eyes. They were in total darkness, which was very cool... little dots swimming around. This is a 12 second exposure of the tank.

I placed the flashlight up under this tree before snapping the photo.

This is an actual (and VERY pickeled!) dead specimen of a deep-sea Flashlight fish; the lower eyelid shows the glands that house the bioluminescent bacteria that makes it glow in the dark in those depths. Definitely something you don't see every day, but I guess just another day at the California Academy of Sciences!
