Combined flashlight and hair brush. Very useful :-)

I told Skye to write her name with the flashlight. Her instructions were to use the entire frame, do it in only two seconds, and not to move her whole body.

"Skye" isn't exactly legible. However, considering she only had a couple practice tries I think she did rather well. She told me after we took the shot that she used "cursive" so it would be faster.

The ISO was ramped up to 800 so I wouldn't have to use a flash and a 2 second shutter. Handheld!

Staying put today so I opted for my Flashlights tunic dress. Comfy and casual.

I went camping in Stillwater Oklahoma a few days ago, and I FINALLY got to use my hammock that was purchased in the summer.

A flashlight to hold for scary stories, or just if it's dark out.

Three different types included:

Up on your shoulder - watching out in front of you if it's dark outside.

Down by your side - If you're more cool about the dark but still want to see what's there.

Super-Scary Story Teller - holds up in front of your face, Click to animate some scary monster hands!

Light turns on and off, and is made to work with SL's lighting model!

Ordered these off of eBay. Will be connecting them to a 4.5VDC power supply and using them in this year's Halloween display

My little brother and I were playing around with a flashlight and long shutter speeds.

This is me and my deconstructed (aka. failed!) attempt at drawing an octave clef. Good times, though

Similar in composition to the previous photograph, this one was illuminated using only a mini-mag light. This was my first attempt at painting with a mini mag lite. Exposure set for 8 seconds as the small flashlight was used to create the lighting effect you see. Post processed with Picnik to curve the colors, contrast, and soften just a tad.

A Fresnel lens is a type of composite compact lens originally developed by French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel for lighthouses. It has been called "the invention that saved a million ships."

The design allows the construction of lenses of large aperture and short focal length without the mass and volume of material that would be required by a lens of conventional design. A Fresnel lens can be made much thinner than a comparable conventional lens, in some cases taking the form of a flat sheet. A Fresnel lens can capture more oblique light from a light source, thus allowing the light from a lighthouse equipped with one to be visible over greater distances.

Lit by an LED flashlight from below. I don't know why, it just seemed the thing to do.

I picked up a pair of mini-flashlights to light tabletop photography - which I loved - but I didn't have a good way to hold them.

When I posed the problem to Hubby he came through with a "U"-shaped piece that screws onto the top of my mini-tripods and is just the right size to hold the flashlight.

Perfect!

They say it's a flashlight, but I think it makes a pretty sweet saber hilt, don't you?

I'm taking a break from Flickr in general, but I didn't want to miss my post for this week's 52 Weeks for Dogs. I kept this one private, so only 52 Week's members can see it.

For the photo, I decided to do something unusual this week. I took Wookie into the windowless bathroom and lit him with only a flashlight. I'm not sure how I feel about the results, (Wookie looks nearly earless!). It was worth a try though! :-)
