This shot wasn't really composed, I just pointed the camera at a likely subject, opened the shutter, and then wave a flashlight around for ten seconds. The results are kind of neat.

Production line needed a way to rapidly remove the caps from flashlights for battery insertion. I designed this machine using pneumatic cylinders, a power drill, and an oil filter tool. The cylinders squeeze the filter tool, holding the flashlight head, while the drill turns, unscrewing the light. One handed control, keeps left hand away, while right hand holds the flashlight being unscrewed.

While the power was out the other day, I messed around with a new flashlight I got. Its a 5w that runs off CR123's or AA's. It only runs at about half wattage on AA's though. Has o-rings at all the joints and is built nice, especially for the price.

Idah's daughter. One of a series of shots taken for her family's album. (She was so small I had to sit on the floor in front of her; I'd use a different lens to the 50mm next time to get better DoF.) These produced great prints on white matte paper.

It seems to have taken forever but I think I've hit on an adequate, quick to set-up, flash lighting set-up for this room. One Flash placed around 5-10ft from subject vertically bounced off the ceiling; second flash unit 15-20ft away bounced at an angle off the ceiling.

A long exposure and I used my flashlight to illuminate the car in the dark...I missed the front right wheel.

It was under the seat of the truck at work
