The lifering and a flashlight aboard the Spirit of British Columbia. This was on her forward viewing area on Deck 6. Lives are saved just by throwing this out in the water to save people, and the flashlight is a guide to find things in the dark.

For strobist: Testing new Ebay triggers (received yesterday) with DigiSlave 3000 firing into umbrella high above and slightly to right. F8 @ 1 second (ISO 50) with ND filter on to allow for slow enough shutter speed to show light on. Triggers work great. Gonna have to point flash a people soon!

This was taken in the backyard at my family's house in Wels, Austria. I wanted to take pictures of stars that night, but it turned out to be cloudy, so I decided to do something else, using my flashlight. Then this came out awesome! :)

The maglite flashlights use xenon and krypton incandescent bulbs. But nowadays some models are prepared using LEDs.
