Third image of the long exposure series at Faro Lluces with photographer Daniel López (@okaphotographer). In this case we played with a flashlight to illuminate the lighthouse tower. In the background, in orange, light pollution.
Experimenting with a bright flashlight to do light painting this morning using the new Canon 6D, before sunrise, at home, at the Golden Gate, and the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, USA. I'm not impressed, could've taken these easily with a cheaper camera. Swans got lit by the flashlight here.

On Friday, Mitch Carlson, Jay Howard, and I headed out for a little star photography. Although a good chunk of the state was under cloudy skies, we managed to find a mostly clear area up around Maryhill and Goldendale.
Jay and I lit the structure with a red-gelled flash and an incandescent-bulbed flashlight, for that orange-yellow glow.
Thanks for eyeballin' it!

This is a time stack that I mirrored and manipulated a bit.
I made it from 336 photos, plus one or two for myself and the flashlight.
this was my first experience with off camera flash: I recently got hold of three 21Ws slaves with bulb sockets - placed in the lamps and triggered with camera flash... ah, and not to forget the little flashlight
That's me running around with a flashlight. I didn't think this would work very well but it came out pretty good. I'll probably do more of these once I overcome the fear of looking like an idiot ;)

I balanced a flashlight on end then placed the leaf on top of it. The background leaves are scattered on the table top.
After a misty rain all day, I decided to take a a few late night pics of my sodden, drippy deck flowers.

I found this nut when I was out on a walk some time ago, brought it home and plunked it down on my computer table, with the vague intent of somehow trying to make a photograph out of it. Finally, I decided I'd best do something with it before it withered up and combined it with this old dead leaf and a piece of driftwood we had in our garden. The lighting was deep afternoon shady window light, plus a swirling flashlight beam.
This is a re-do of an image I posted over 10 years ago. Topaz has lots of powerful new processing tools that weren't available back then, so I ran it though Topaz Studio 2, and I believe improved it Noticeably.
