A local guy advertised a F801S for sale, his brother wanting to get rid, going for digital.

The descriotion was F801S and the blurry photo showed a few lenses. About an equiv of USD400 for the lot.

I met him up, I only wanted the body for my collection. When I saw what he got, so very difficult to keep a straight face. Very good condition all of them, except with a spot of fungus on the 60mm f/2.8 macro, which did not affect any picture quality.

Managed to get all for USD300.

Me and Mel Brooks. yes that's really MEL BROOKS!!!!!

He's been in and out of town during the tech of Young Frankenstein and I just had to screw up my courage and ask him to sign my copy of Blazing Saddles. And he is the sweetest, most personable guy you'd ever want to meet. When I said I loved the film he immediately said "it wasn't just me you know. There were seven other guys up there." Modest and funny and charming. He was like a doting jewish grandfather.

He was so nice about chatting with me that I went for broke and asked if he'd be in a photo with me. I was sure it would be blurry since my hands were shaking so much. Thank heaven for the flash, I think it came out pretty good.

I mean. I got to meet MEL BROOKS! I'm still a little bouncy about it three days later.

(This week my photos are uploading late because I've been working truly obscene long hours on the new musical Young Frankenstein. Most of these shots are understandably show related.)

"Friends uke nited" flash mob in Gloucester city centre this afternoon. They were introduced by Gloucester's Town Crier (and world's loudest town crier!) Alan Myatt and started off by playing 'Jingle Bells', getting everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Sprotbrough Flash

Sprotbrough Flash (4)

Sprotbrough Flash lies in the gorge of the River Don and is a favourite for Yorkshire naturalists.

Our Rating:

This 28 hectare reserve is managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and is located only 1 mile from the A1 (junction 36) just south of Sprotbrough village itself.

The focal point is the lake, however this reserve also includes grassland and woodland that provide habitats for many wildlife species.

Getting there is pretty straight forward by bus, car or even boat should you wish to arrive at Sprotbrough Lock. There are limited car parking spaces on Nursery Lane, however the The Boat Inn kindly caters for those visitors to the Flash who intend to enjoy some food or drink after their walk.

The footpaths are a mixture of public and permissive trails and 0.5 miles of footway are considered wheelchair friendly. Dogs are required to be kept on a lead.

The reserve is open at all times and if you would like further information contact the YWT Reserve Manager at info@ywt.org.uk

Strobist: 3 flashes.

A música escolhida para o flash mob foi "You can dance" do Abba.
