I usually avoid using artificial light in my photography. However, when it comes to shooting bunches of bananas hanging from a banana tree where the large leaves create a natural canopy, the only way to properly bring the image to life is to use an external light source.
This was photo was taken using a Canon 580EX flash equipped with a Gary Fong Lightsphere Universal System Cloud.

Stasera un bel tramonto regala un Green flash, e blu
Tonight a beautiful sunset gives a green flash, and blue
I got a Fujifilm EF-20 Hotshoe flash in the mail today for my X100s. I wanted to test it out so I took a Selfie. I know it looks like of camera lighting but it's not. I rotated the flash 90 Degrees vertically turned my camera to portrait orientation and fired my flash in a V-flat created by opening my white kitchen cabinet.
Yayyyyyyyy .. I got myself a new flash.
A Nikon SB 910.
So took a few experimental shots wth Rashi ... just to get a feel of its features.
Guess I caught some flash flare .. must be like sunflare ... it came all by itself. :)
Strobe:

Built in Flash commander in the front at full power.
Now I know that everyone is posting this, but I just think it's it's so cool! Though I can't tell whether that's brown or red, I'm gonna need to see more pics to make my final judgement.
These are my son Derrick's shoes at his wedding last Saturday. He worked at Nordstrom in the ladies shoes department for a few years when he was in college. The boy loves shoes. lol :)
Seen here resting in Torpoint is Plymouth Citybus Yellow Flash 538 WJ65BZE. Bit unsure why this is in Torpoint, but presume it is something to do with the Callywith College contract; and the driver is tide in with the temporary 69 route to Cremyll.
Trying to get my head around using flash in photography. Just playing around - I like the shadows created by the hat
The light and setup were a little challenging, so Ken tried some off-camera flash. It looked fairly good, but we really need much more than 3 camera speedlights to do this right. We also should have been involved in the setup of the bleachers, so they would be positioned better relative to the aircraft. Next time.
A small accessory can facilitate your work with multiple remote flash units.
There are several brands and performance, cheaper and less expensive.
I use this for my lighting workshops still life and portraiture.

Every now and then, something completely unexpected can turn out to be beneficial. In this shot, a fountain emitted one spark which detonated just above the firework itself. The light from this pop acted like flash, a strobe, and illuminated the firework fountain.
As a result, we get some spotlight lighting on our little pyrotechnic display. The black background of the night is solidified and you have this very pleasant little scene of the firework fountain shooting sparks, yet plunged into darkness.
I, of course, had no idea that one little spark would pop in such a way. There was no planning for it, there was no expectation of exposure. It just happened. And I was lucky enough to press the shutter release at the precise moment without even realizing that I caught a little bit of magic.
Based on the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick and created for a project. The face was inspired more by the New 52 than the classic appearance, because it bothered me that he never wore a mask.
Antique store purchase. Unlike more modern models this camera can operate without battery power. Nice.
I was walking along, minding my business
When out of an orange-colored sky
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Wonderful you came by
I was humming a tune, drinking in sunshine
When out of that orange-colored view
Wham! Bam! Alakazam!
I got a look at you
One look and I yelled timber
Watch out for flying glass
’cause the ceiling fell and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout,
I’ve been hit, this is it, this is it!
I was walking along minding my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!

The Eastern Towhee looks more sparrow-like as a juvenile than it does as an adult, and perhaps that is the only time that this bird of the underbrush sports a look that betrays its origins. They are, after all, truly oversized sparrows. A flash of its spotted tail and a hint of rufous coloring on its flanks are the only hints of a bird yet to come. Like Thrashers and mocking birds, these birds flash their tail and wing feathers under a variety of circumstances. It’s a practice that can be used to distract predators, scare of competitors, and to flush prey. #EasternTowhee

The Green Flash: Fearless Fifty!
I bought this up on impulse from Trader Joe's while in there to pick up a 4-pack of Dogfish 90-Minute. I like saisons, and I think Trader Joe's has a decent line of food-related store-brand goods, so why not? Plus, it was only $6 for a big bottle. I've spent MORE on beer that I've had to dump out
For store-brand, this was a very good ale! It was smooth and refreshing, with only hints of the orange and pepper flavors that they advertise on the label.
I'm curious what others think, and if anyone has tried their other store-brand brews. I welcome your feedback!!

yes, that skirt again. And those heels, and those stockings and panties... I can't get enough of this skirt, and since one of my most esteemed friends says: this woman is not going anywhere, I guess I'll have to consider what to wear next with this skirt... any suggestions?

Olympus OM2n with winder & T-20 TTL flash alongside mamiya/sekor 500 TL [circa 1968] went to Kaskaskia state wildlife refuge [southern IL].
Fujifilm 200 in the OM2n & 400 in the mamiya/sekor [both C41 for those keeping score at home]
Spot metering takes some getting used to [looking at you, 500 TL], so I am just aiming around to see if anything is way out of scale at this point.
