G M Buses 3179 (C179 YBA) and 7831 (UNA 831S) in an evening try-out with a new flash gun.

Manchester, Piccadilly Bus Station, 22/01/1992.

I got a Fujifilm EF-20 Hotshoe flash in the mail today for my X100s. I wanted to test it out so I took a Selfie. I know it looks like of camera lighting but it's not. I rotated the flash 90 Degrees vertically turned my camera to portrait orientation and fired my flash in a V-flat created by opening my white kitchen cabinet.

Day 195 (v 11.0) - beats hot flashes

Powwow, 2012 Ferry Bar Park

I am used to shooting hoopers indoors in mostly darkness. Shooting at dusk required several attempts to get both the trails and the sunset. The only difference from the indoor shots ended up being a smaller aperture and weaker flash.

Based on the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick and created for a project. The face was inspired more by the New 52 than the classic appearance, because it bothered me that he never wore a mask.

Brutally cold out today - 2 degrees with a 30mph wind. Schools were closed, and I can understand why. I was outside for 5 minutes and couldn't feel my face anymore.

A mountain bluebird that has made the boneyard of Stoltz place his territory.

My son wanted to be the Flash so we got him a costume from Target and made a photoshoot out of it!

Trying to get my head around using flash in photography. Just playing around - I like the shadows created by the hat

These are my son Derrick's shoes at his wedding last Saturday. He worked at Nordstrom in the ladies shoes department for a few years when he was in college. The boy loves shoes. lol :)

This is a picture I took with my phone last year using the app Huji Cam. I made some more editing in other mobile apps just to explore the visual possibilities they offer. I see this image as an "exercise", because I really just wanted to test new things and do something different. I think this is very important to develop an unique aesthetic.

When a day starts with a shot like this, I get the feeling it's gonna be a good day!

Strobist info:

One 580EXII flash w/ green Honl gel, set to 1/4 power, placed behind the model (facing the wall). Flash triggered with a CactusV4 set.

We were here for 20 minutes before the flow suddenly kicked up. The water flowed with enough speed to bounce of that rock front-centre, and the water turned brown with dirt picked up up-stream. That's somehow the way i like to see a fast flowing water of body the most, when it turns brown.

Model: Minna

Strobist setup: SB-900 with a CL softbox camera left. Sky model back. Triggered with Skyport.

Now I know that everyone is posting this, but I just think it's it's so cool! Though I can't tell whether that's brown or red, I'm gonna need to see more pics to make my final judgement.

These are Emperor Tamarins and are a very active little monkey, and quite cute too. I really like their mustache. I used my on board flash set at -1 for this shot

#43/365 Since I didn't have any gels atm, we strapped a red plastic bag on the background flash. One flash with Ezybox Speed-Lite from top left and one bare flash on the floor pointed up.

Giving the Phottix Mitros a workout at Photokina. A 35 x 140 cm Strip Box with Grid triggered by Odin TTL Triggers. See the post for more full info.

This plant is in the pollinator garden at the farm. My tall height (6'4") makes it easy to get shots from above, though I have to crouch for photos from the side.

The Earth is saved. No more Hot Hail from Ming!

Glorious sunshine (if you are into that sort of thing).
