My mother has a bad habit of burning plastic stuff. Here's a picture of some nice multi-colored flames from one of her fires.

A few days ago we had a magical sunrise. I've never seen anything like this before! It looked like the sun had a flame! It lasted for a few minutes and it was just magical!

I turned up late after my trip to Bristol so missed the fireworks. So here's a few pictures of the bonfire instead!
The Flame Nebula, designated as NGC 2024 is an emission nebula in the constellation Orion. It is about 900 to 1,500 light-years away. This was taken with a Celestron SCT8 and DSI Pro II camera on a LXD75 mount with a Lumicon night sky Hydrogen alpha filter.
This is 20 sec subframes for a total of 29 minutes.
