Pepperdine University setup flags in honor of the victims of the 9-11 attacks, one flag for each victim.

Monday 9 March 2009 was Commonwealth Day. To mark the occasion the flags of all the Commonwealth countries were flown in Parliament Square.

Helpfully there was a notice with the name of the country on each flag pole.

The Curaçao flag. People of Curaçao are very proud of their flag. For most of them living abroad seeing it only gives them more emotional joy!

The Samara Flag is one of the most important symbols of the Bulgarian Army. It is located in the Shipka Monument. I chose this picture to represent The Shipka Monument mainly because this flag is a much better representation to the heroic act of the Bulgarian militia and because it is almost impossible to take pictures of it.

Hand-held 1 second exposure. The museum was dark so I am glad this actually turned out so good.

lots of flags outside the UN building in Geneva. I wanted to get one with the Irish flag but when i was photo-ing the Irish flag was in shade :(

At the soccer game last weekend, the opening day of the new Avaya Stadium in San Jose, 4 skydivers drifted down to the field. Three landed on the field, but the one carrying the grand old flag was pulled by its drag in the wind to the outer parking lot! Oh well! It looked great on the way down!

US and Maryland Flag Half Staff

A new flag was used in the Wednesday night ceremony that was flown in combat.

Fairground lights and pennants at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair in Amarillo, Texas.

We attended the first night of a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association-sanctioned Rodeo, which featured open seating and animals from the National Finals Rodeo bucking string.

The US seems a bit ragged, and Rhode Island is all tangled up..
