A 48 Star United States Flag - Claysville, PA

This Flag was huge as it moved slowly as wind passed over it . It could have a been about 75ft long. The flag was a great reminder of what America stands for.

Polegreen Church, on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia, was an important historical site in colonial and revolutionary America. As the home church of the youthful Patrick Henry, the Presbyterian minister Samuel Davies' patriotic sermons had lasting influence. Destroyed by fire during the Civil War, the outline of the structure has been restored as a memorial to the struggle for religious freedom.

This flag flies at the memorial site. It is the flag of Great Britain during the American colonial era.

Looking down from the top of the Millenium Stadium I saw this huge flag being passed up to the top of the stand, I waited for it to be passed back down to get this shot, which when looking at the croud is somewhat disorientating.

An American flag flutters in the late afternoon breeze, with a rising moon in the background.

While it's not not moving, it's moving slowly as it's definitely well-frosted. Best viewed large (to see the frost).

Flag Alley is the short path that links Gainsborough's Market place with Lord Street. It runs alongside the Town Hall, and has not really changed that much down the years, beyond the Town Hall being redeveloped with the loss of the stinking toilets that used to be down here. Compare with this early 1970s view, and this one from the 1960s.

This shot was taken on my car at the Friendship Bridge between Nongkhai and Vientiane. I passed the Lao side's imigration. Then I drove a car to the Thai side. Here in Vientiane, the handle on my car is left-hand side. In Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, car handles are right-hand side. When I overtake a car in front of me, I cannot see the other side clear. Arh the two yellow flags are to celebrate Thai King. He is the 60th annversary of the accession.

My family are happy, but I need to drive a car.

About my trip to the Bahamas: Atlantis Honeymoon.

At first, I hated the person in the way, but I eventually found that it accentuated the flag with a proper crop.

Flag Day is already a well-known and beloved competition among students from five high schools in Bucharest, organized by the Public Diplomacy Section. Participating for the first time, this year’s high schools (Mihai Eminescu, Nicolae Iorga, C.A. Rosetti, Mihail Sadoveanu and Dimitrie Paciurea) developed depictions of all 50 U.S. States and the District of Columbia.

Held in the Embassy’s courtyard for the first time, the 150 students exhibited the displays they created to illustrate representative elements for each of the states, all related to the history, culture and language of the Native Americans. The winners received American books and stationary and had a fun pizza picnic on the lawn.
