03.06 -- photo by Marco Catini -- This year's Snow Bowl Flag Football Tournament, the 10th annual 6-on-6 format tournament, offered players an opportunity to compete inside the NY Giants Quest Diagnostics Training Center and hang out at MetLife Stadium, while raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey. Thanks to our host, the New York Football Giants, and presenting sponsor, Wyndham Worldwide.

My favorite shot of the trip. Probably my favorite shot of all time so far. The biggest challenge was waiting for the wind to catch the flag while making sure none of my friends would jump into frame which they did at some point haha.
Anyone who knows me, knows I like taking photos of flags, esp. the US Flag. And I love taking photos of our public art - the bigger the better - trying to find a perspective that accentuates the piece, while giving it context without too much detraction from surroundings.
The new art piece on the side of the old Beloit Iron Works was something I had to try ASAP. This is my first attempt at taking photos of it. I can't really decide which one works the best so you get to see them all...
This is made from hardwood patterns used to cast paper machinery parts in the old Beloit Corp/Beloit Iron Works foundries. I machined a lot of parts made from some of these very patterns in the 21 years I worked as a machinist in this same building.

Flag was accidentally hung in distress during a snow storm...very difficult to see - it was at a Police station...
Flag Day 2017
In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
