One day, while cruising down the avenue, I happened upon Clint working to restore power to the Monte Vista Motel's vintage neon. He was a cool guy and I learned more about neon signs talking to him. Thanks for having a look!

At least the high tension wire tower is hidden by the chimney. I have passed this for almost 20 yrs promising myself I would stop to get the pic. About a week ago, I followed up. I never go by when I don't imagine what it would be like to buy it and fix it up.

Yep, we had our annual Lake Michigan fix. Sunset addicts enjoy!

When I bought this doll I honestly thought it was gonna be easier, I totally understimated her 😂

Her lips cracked just by washing her face, the yellow didnt come out completely BUT the difference is huge and shes already in her new home so Im more than happy 💗

I saw two of these signs on the march, but I liked the more simple looking one with the yellow background.

This is also a frame capture from HD video, using the Canon EOS Rebel T6 Camera, with the Canon 18-55mm zoom lens.

While this fox squirrel was getting its peanut fix, I was getting my squirrel fix. :-)

I mentioned yesterday how a major issue is dominating this year's local government elections. Here it is: FIX THE MUD!

Now it has nothing at all to do with mud-slinging politicians for a change. No, this mud is the build up of silt in the Tamar River estuary. The next photo I post will show this in dramatic fashion, but these photographs at low tide illustrate a major problem for our Seaport.

Until the 1960s Launceston had a busy river port where cargo (especially wool) was transported up the Tamar and into Bass Strait. But eventually it became totally uneconomical to have to keep dredging the river.

Until the Trevallyn Dam was built in the early 1950s (to increase hydro power capabilities) water from the South Esk River would flood through the magnificent ancient Cataract Gorge and naturally flush the silt back out to sea. The Tamar estuary is Australia's longest at 70 kilometres long.

Many plans have been offered over the years and the one that would almost certainly right the problem would be to dismantle the dam. But since that won't happen, alternative proposals need to be found. This is where the Tamar Action Group candidates standing for election under the FIX THE MUD! banner have made a stand. tamaractiongroup.org.au/

The plan is a progressive one that concerns itself with the whole health of the Tamar Estuary.

"Ahhhh...what did you do that for Mr"

Found this student riding a singlespeed fixie down an unlit lane without any lights on his bike and couldn't resist the opportunity for a hit and run shot I'd had in mind for some time. I had a conscience and reversed back up the road, gave him a couple of flashes of SB-600 and was on my way before you could say roadkill.

That'll teach him. Remember kids, safety first.

My neighbor fixing his fence that seperates our yards.

This is Cal, Jasper's blood-nephew (son of Jasper's litter mate, Colleen). He owns my sister-in-law and her family, living in Wisconsin. Nice to have an Aussie fix while we visit family for Christmas (Jasper is back in Arizona enjoying time with another family for the holiday)

Looks inviting and unsuspecting.

Following an incident near Drummond Island, the Sykes would have to make a divert their course to Fraser Shipyards for repairs to their hull. This would also be the Sykes first visit to the yard since 1975 when it was converted to a self unloader.
