"Ahhhh...what did you do that for Mr"
Found this student riding a singlespeed fixie down an unlit lane without any lights on his bike and couldn't resist the opportunity for a hit and run shot I'd had in mind for some time. I had a conscience and reversed back up the road, gave him a couple of flashes of SB-600 and was on my way before you could say roadkill.
That'll teach him. Remember kids, safety first.

The last thing I expected was an EXPLORE on this photo.
I believe in my profile description it was mentioned that my ex husband and I had a sign making business for about 10 years in NH. Whenever I see sign companies installing, making, fixing signs it's of great interest to me because of this.
This day was no exception and I debated bw instead but went with color. (I'll probably post the bw version or others on this shoot)
Our sign making business was based out of Plymouth/Campton, NH. We did everything from painted, carved, sandblasted, vinyl from trucklettering to installing larger signs such as these. However I was younger then and had 3 children while, at the same tme, running this business From soup to nuts lol.
As the kids came it was a bit challenging to afford daycare and meet our deadlines. I recall being 40 feet up on a ladder in the winter ~ 8-9 months pregnant to pay the bills.
For about 4--5 years I was secretary for the New Hampshire Sign Association. This group was more of a tri-state or more group... Sign companies such as Barlo Signs, Franks Signs, Paquette Signs and many more attended these monthly meetings.
This is a very positive thing to belong to these associations. Especially being new to the business. Other sign companies are very friendly and often times work can be subcontracted so that both companies benefit as well as the customer.
My first street shot EXPLORE ... I'm thrilled to have my 36th EXPLORE here on Flickr. (Unless I missed one )
Thanks to Erika... you must have the greatest job on Flickr <3

In times like this, listening to some drunk Luna yuppie whimper and whine drunkenly about his ex wife, Tessa had to wonder if pushing papers crammed in the corner of an MGM office was really all that bad, but as she watched the 8k in eddies drop into her account and the Yuppie in front of her flatline, She decided that maybe it wasn’t all bad, just a little annoying sometimes.

I mended this puncture and did a couple of other jobs on my bike. I got it all together and set up in the stand, pumped up the rear tyre and after a while the valve let go from the tube. I did not have another tube of the right size. I said some choice words at this point.

Come on Flickr!!!! Days of having to work around problems is enough. I'm tired of seeing your Panda. I'm also tired of needing to make 2 and 3 attempts just to leave a comment.

Am having additional issue this evening, but will just try to work around them. Maybe they want me to leave and go somewhere else. Just a bit miffed by everything.
JUST FIX IT.
I don't mind working but have to admit that I'd rather watch another man fix a hole. It gives me a fond appreciation for my leisure time. Some might say that this image should be heavily cropped but I just love the way the Hole Fixer Man looks against the big wide world. It makes me think of the beginning of a Thomas Hardy novel where he frames the character against the larger context of the landscape in order to blur the distinctions between people and the natural world they live in. Ain't I a literary hoity toity?

From last year's first barn hunt, an old house in Bostwick, GA. I don't remember if the house was abandoned. There was some farm vehicles nearby, and I notice there are curtains in the window.

Scene of mechanics in what seems to be changing the spark plugs of that beautifull Jaguar E-Type while the driver talks with another driver.
I'm making them look like they got out of a huge firefight. Drybrushed them with black to resemble ash and smoke and to look worn out. I don't like minifig soldiers looking like they've never been to war. That's just me :)

Spotted this derelict building last weekend when visiting our local Nation Trust Gardens. As it was really busy we had to park in an overflow car park in the middle of a site of industrial units. Didn't notice this till we were walking back to the car!
Happy Father's day to all the dads on flickr! My treat is to go and watch 'Man of Steel' at the cinema - can't wait!

Minneapolis, Minnesota
Got my morning fix at Dogwood Coffee this morning. Dogwood is my favorite roaster in the Twin Cities. Their coffee is great, their brand and design is superb, and their cafes are well done, too. This morning I caught up with a friend at the Dogwood near my office in Northeast Minneapolis. A nice way to start the day.
