When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face, and I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face, and I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Settler shed.
(Now stores grain. So many field mice in there... Like a Hilton for mice. One mouse, ok. 10,0000 mice = heebiejeebies)

Looks like this house needs some work (I believe that it is abandoned, based on the many broken windows and general condition of the house). Shot taken on way from Fall Lake Falls State Park in Tennessee to Rock Island State Park, about one hour away.
I miss you...still
It`s been 6 months since you left away...and still....nothing is like before...and never will be again...i wished i would have been able...able to fix you...but in the end we didn`t succeed. If i just could press rewind for one day...one single day...i surely would try again...try again to fix you!

The wind was too strong to be at sea and it was time to mend the boat.
Tsunami hit this place in 2005 and you can see many many old boats are abandoned.

Derelict House near Basset Cove, Cornwall
When you go to Cornwall on a photography trip this is not the sort of scene that your mind conjures up! I spotted this old house driving down the B3301 and managed to find a place to park and walk back to it. The hedgerow meant I had to give up on my tripod so was really thankful for both the IS on the R5 and the flippy screen Canon puts on their cameras. The left hand image I managed to get shooting through a gap in the hedge. There was something about this old house that appealed to me. The sky was too blue to suit it...really wants a brooding dark grey sky so went for a rare B&W. I was tempted to do a sky swap but resisted!

Last time I was here, the market looked ok. But the owner, Stanley Ragsdale (Son of the town's founder, Desert Steve) died in 1999 and looks like no one is taking care of the town.
Missing our boy right now. We’ve been visiting family in Wisconsin for the past 10 days and were supposed to go home Sunday. But our flight was one of many that was canceled and we couldn’t get another flight until Wednesday. So we’re camped out in a hotel for 3 days with nothing but photos of Jasper for our dog fix. Thank goodness our dog sitter was available to continue her stay with Jasper at our home. But we missed his 13th birthday on Sunday. So we’ll have to celebrate big when we get home.
This shot is at the riparian preserve in front of some barrel cacti. Having grown up in the desert he’s rather adept at navigating prickly stuff
She has been a long term project for some loving owner...I can recall her being drawn up on the shingle at Conwy for a few years ...
“Life is not a straight line leading from one blessing to the next
and then finally to heaven. Life is a winding and troubled road.
Switchback after switchback. And the point of biblical stories
like Joseph and Job and Esther and Ruth is to help us feel in
our bones (not just know in our heads) that God is for us in all
these strange turns. God is not just showing up after the trouble
and cleaning it up. He is plotting the course and managing the troubles with far-reaching purposes for our good & for the glory
of Jesus Christ.” – John Piper, in A Sweet and Bitter Providence
To me sunshine fixes a lot of things and then so does rain... on a gray day here we see physical things like fence that could use mending, a birdbath that needs fixing, and a flowerbed that needs attention among other things but the windmill looks to be in fairly good shape.. requiring a few repairs to be whirring again... seen in East Texas along a back road. The paragraph above talks about life... thankful that in it God is my fixer upper... Hugs and a very HAPPY WINDMILL WEDNESDAY!!! HWW!!!
Note: this fuzzy, wee bee was found deceased, presumably of natural causes. No bees were intentionally harmed for this photo.
