I found this saguaro cactus blooming on March 24, 2009. It was the first cactus I observed blooming at Sabino Canyon this year.

My first work in weaving. This is a soviet plastic soviet toy-loom from 80's, cost about $10 according to the soviet currency rate of that time
June 9th, 2012, I was privileged to play music for the first ever Dinner and Dance for the Alumni Association of DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management, an event the faculty and staff intend to make an annual one.
The party was at Tower Club (East) a brand new area, built when the stadium was renovated. This pic shows a split lawn roughly where the new part of the building stands today:

The Tower Clubs, East and West, have views mostly to the south, but a sort of lounge area extends inward, giving a view inside the stadium too, where crews were setting up for the June 10th concert with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw. During dinner, I was able to capture the daylight shots of the stadium being readied for the concert, which I'm told has sold 42,000 tickets.
Then, upon leaving, well after dark, I watched as they were testing lights for the show.

First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame joined Rulindo District residents for Umuganda and the launch of Year-3 of the 12+ programme NiNyampinga on Saturday, 29 October 2016.
12+ is a nationwide programme conducted under the Ministry of Health, with the support of DFID, the programme was launched in 2014 to provide girls with health, socio-economic and leadership tools to help young girls exercise their rights while providing them with the tools to become successful adults. The programme is implemented by Imbuto Foundation in 10 districts, namely: Burera, Gakenke, Gicumbi, Karongi, Musanze, Ngororero, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Rulindo and Rutsiro.
Through 12+, young girls aged between 10 -12 receive lessons on self-confidence, nutritional balance, career guidance and the principles of being financially independent. Young mentors, aged between 18 – 25 years, who are trained to empower the girls in “safe spaces”, conduct these lessons every weekend.
Over the past two years, more than 13,000 girls have been mentored under the 12+ programme.

Cold Stone is where I had my first date with my wife, who I met on a dating app. We were both very nervous but after finishing our ice cream, we ended up talking in my car for 4 hours. It was only after our first couple dates that she told me she was lactose intolerant....
We had the first snow of 2009 overnight. It was only a few inches but it made small roads almost impassable.
38218 was a one of a number of E500s on the 75. Not surprisingly there was at least one Nordic and a single deck in use on the 44/a at the same time.

"For Carsten Höller, the experience of sliding is best summed up in a phrase by the French writer Roger Caillois as a ‘voluptuous panic upon an otherwise lucid mind’. The slides are impressive sculptures in their own right, and you don’t have to hurtle down them to appreciate this artwork. What interests Höller, however, is both the visual spectacle of watching people sliding and the ‘inner spectacle’ experienced by the sliders themselves, the state of simultaneous delight and anxiety that you enter as you descend.
To date Höller has installed six smaller slides in other galleries and museums, but the cavernous space of the Turbine Hall offers a unique setting in which to extend his vision. Yet, as the title implies, he sees it as a prototype for an even larger enterprise, in which slides could be introduced across London, or indeed, in any city. How might a daily dose of sliding affect the way we perceive the world? Can slides become part of our experiential and architectural life?
Höller has undertaken many projects that invite visitor interaction, such as Flying Machine (1996) that hoists the user through the air, Upside-Down Goggles (1994/2001) that modify vision, and Frisbee House (2000) - a room full of Frisbees. The slides, like these earlier works, question human behaviour, perception and logic, offering the possibility for self-exploration in the process."
I photographed the Ted Hughes memorial stone near Taw Head, North Dartmoor back in December 2010, and was pleased to receive a request to include it in a walk featured in Active Dartmoor Magazine. I liked the way the frost on the stone picked out the lettering.
A tour my father (GS1200R) and me (GS500) did. It was my first big tour that I rode on my own bike. Starting from the centre of Switzerland, we rode Oberalppass and Lukmanier before we split. My father stayed in the south and I headed back via the San Gottardo.
Long day, sore limbs but great fun, a great experience and I learned a lot.
