Literally the first of the year. Nothing remarkable about it at all, I just thought I'd share the grotty conditions out there today with you all. Remind me why I do this again?

Wearing:
- First Love Dress courtesy of Modcloth
- Cameo necklace, a gift from Thomas
- D.I.Y Pink Satin Bow
- Shoes from Target
Could words possibly describe how much I love this dress? Probably not. Frolicking through a field only feels natural with how angelic and sweet it is, and I feel so feminine and fairy-like!

Whilst the 42 does tend to be a bit of a cinderella with various types appearing the use of double decks is much less common although in this case 32300 is seen waiting to turn up Anniesland Road en route to Garscadden
This is the first of a few photos I shot last night that i will post today or tomorrow. I was amazed at the angle of that cloud. And yes it did hail.

Well we finally got our first snow fall last night. Actually quite often we don't get any snow until around Christmas time so of course hardly anybody had their snow tires on and driving was slowwww...
This was shot from my deck this morning. Yesterday the ducks were still swimming in the little river behind my house my I guess they didn't like the snow and the cold so they must have screwed off! :-)
Note that this is also the first photo I uploaded from my new camera. Very pleased with it so far. I will upload a video at some point although I hate video on flickr.

My first post using the brand spanking new 60D.
I didn't get quite the sharp detail I wanted, but he was pacing fast so I had to pick a spot and click as he strode by.
I wandered around the garden and the aquarium (figured there was no time like the present to learn how to catch a fish) and the zoo yesterday. Captured some nice flowers, a few River of Lights Christmas decorations and a very blurry shark....not all images are fit for Flickr consumption but I had a blast!
Thank you for your comments and faves – they are greatly appreciated!

Celebrating my first successful batch of home-made double cream vanilla fudge! ;o)
Shot with the Sony NEX-6 using the 16-50mm Lens
And if you are interested - here's the recipe I found online!
275 g golden caster sugar
100 g light muscovado sugar
225 g clotted cream (I used M&S extra thick single cream instead)
½ tsp natural vanilla extract
1. Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Bring to the boil, cover and boil for 3 minutes.
Uncover and continue to boil until the temperature reaches 116 C on a sugar thermometer.
2. Remove from the heat and beat until the mixture becomes thick and creamy.
Pour into a greased 20 cm square tin.
Leave for 30 minutes.
Mark into squares with a knife and leave until set.
Cut into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Makes 36 pieces
