Haha I finally took one, there you go Nubi!

The valve to turn the fire hydrant off was (of course) under the fire hydrant river.

I really loved the way the blue in this hydrant came out. A smaller feature that I didn't catch until after shooting were the small patches of rust.

You know it's almost summer when the orange-yellow california poppies are everywhere. I just had to stop and sketch this picture-perfect scene

You are going to see this firehydrant over and over again for a little while as I keep going back to shoot it with different cameras. The Holga is the first camera to take a stab of it. That was yesterday. Today I went back with the new Rolleiflex and RAW's digital point and shoot (uploads still to come). My 20D is still in the shop. I guess I can go back with the Polaroid next week ;-)

We lost water pressure, and this is the reason why. Notice the wrench on the top of the hydrant.

I'd been staring at this one for a while. It feels like a cliche, but in spite of that I've always kinda liked it.

So here you go.

It was there so I took its picture

ODC-Signs

The little sign on the top of the pole above the fire hydrant is to identify that there is a fire hydrant in this spot. It is handy if we have a lot of snow, but we haven't had enough snow to worry about needing this for 4 years.
