The little sign on the top of the pole above the fire hydrant is to identify that there is a fire hydrant in this spot. It is handy if we have a lot of snow, but we haven't had enough snow to worry about needing this for 4 years.

At work we went on a field trip to Arlington horse track. I forgot my camera. My boss loaned me a really old point and shoot (3 mb pixel) to alleviate the pain of not being prepared.

Caused by too many dogs peeing on it.

PGT Fire Hydrant Challenge

I like seeing pictures of different fire hydrants, but hardly ever take one myself. Here's one I thought was interesting.

The thoughtful gardener can make a beautiful scene in even the smallest Toronto front yard.

A fire hydrant on Sparks Street, just outside the CBC. This picture makes me feel off-balance.

They are replacing the lead pipes feeding the homes with copper ones.

Found in Covington(Luv the Cov), Kentucky. If you look close you can see the snow flurries.

I don't know why there was a fire hydrant in the middle of a field. South Shore suburbs, Montreal.

Draw a fire hydrant. We dont have many traditional looking fire hydrants in Australia. In Sydney they are more likely to be a series of pipes coming out of the ground. I found this "Fire Hose Reel" on the way to work. It is on the wharf near near all the water taxis and harbour cruise boats. This is not at Sydney Harbour near our famous icons of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, but the other side of the Harbour. I've never seen them used .
