Early morning old Quebec City this brightly coloured fire hydrant caught my eye. It was a still so quiet on the streets, not a soul to be seen. I love being out this time of the morning, I feel like I own the world.
We pass them all the time and hardly notice them. They are part of the urban landscape - but they stand ready through snow, rain or shine, and they could save your life.
So far I haven't documented every fire hydrant on our usual dog walk route, but maybe in another twenty years or so...
