We'd just admired them on the forecourt of the fire station and then one went past. I think it needed to top up the steam lorry half a mile ahead of us in the queue!

Resources from throughout Santa Barbara County came together at UCSB to run a full scale HazMat drill. The scenario had Engine 17 arrive on scene to find a victim on the third floor surrounded by an unknown chemical. The victim was pronounced DOA and a full HazMat response was initiated. Santa Barbara County Fire, Santa Barbara City Fire, Lompoc Fire, Montecito Fire and Carp-Summerland Fire all took part in the drill.
