Good evening everyone,
It's been a busy week for me juggling 2 jobs but I'm hanging in there and things are going pretty good.
Sometimes work can take over your life but you just have to do it for the time being.
Don't think too much and appreciate that you can do it.
This year I try not to think as much as I used to.
Tonight I'm experimenting with fire ...months ago I was drawn to the water element ...this month January I feel drawn to the fire element.
Maybe because it is so cold in London right now.
In order to shine you must be your own light.
Today and tomorrow

I did a team shoot for my daughter's team the other night. This is one of our shots. We shot this on a local High school Soccer field and once again, I was very limited on the amount of time I was given to set up, shoot, and tear down.

I took another walk on sunday.. after i shot the first macro around lunchtime i had another long walk in the evening (12km).
The weather wasn't rainy anymore but the sky was quite dull.. and i didn't find anything..
At least until the clouds broke up, the sun was going down and "set fire" to a little meadow..

•Fire Within•
Light burns in the dark, shadowy canyon as icy water flows beneath, catching and reflecting golden light, kisses of blue and teal. Shimmering cottonwoods dot the banks of this geological marvel and the tranquility of kneeling in the water of this place is pure magic. Little drops of water splashing on cold cheeks. I enjoyed this beautiful scene with my buddy John a few weeks ago on a banzai mission to Zion National Park.

Shot with the crazy ninja-designer-makeup artist - fire dancing - kia screaming Romy Noel in an abandonned building.
All in all, the shoot went well. Those who follow me on facebook already know now that all didn't go according to plan when Romy started spitting out fireballs.... which resulted in an entire squad of firemen and three seperate patrols of police officer (including one very cute blond I must mention) that arrested us for... well, breaking and entering as well as spitting little balls of happiness into the air.
That being said, our awesome charm and fantastic good looks got us through without so much as a ticket.
Shot with the indispensable help of Julius Adarna (who even stands by me as we get arrested),
Lighting wise, there was a 3 light setup in place to freeze the shot in place. The camera was placed on a tripod and panned during the shot to enlarge the effect of the fire while Romy was dancing.

Waikiki Beach, Oahu
It was a foggy and peaceful evening at Sunrise in Mt. Rainier National Park in Sept. of 2015. This is on the trail above the lodge that never disappoints at dusk. The fog lifted just long enough for the glorious warmth to show through for a bit. It is a 3 shot HDR for the benefit of the foreground that was in deep shade. There is just a touch of the Orton Effect on the central area, and a bit of Nik's Pastel in the fog at very low opacity added with a control point.

Mojave National Preserve, Dome Fire burn scar. My second trip to this location.
The Dome Fire was started by lightening on August 15th, 2020 and went on to burn 42,273 acres and kill as many as 1.3 million Joshua Trees: www.nps.gov/moja/learn/nature/dome-fire.htm. The remarkable thing, is that though the Joshua Trees were burned to death, they all remained standing.

This is a picture that was taken by a friend of mine in British Columbia. He lives in the Okanogan (sp?), and this was last summer when there was, not only a lightning storm, but a forest fire in progress.
