They freely give to the poor.
Their goodness will continue forever.
They will be honored with victory.

Woodland fire 20220214
On 14 February 2022, a forest fire affected a steep slope in the Adige Valley (north-eastern Italy). Three helicopters intervened promptly and quickly extinguished the fire.
The fire was probably arson and developed rapidly after a long dry period.
It is an adventure just to even witness the lava flow. But it is all the more intriguing and intimate to follow the lava from the crater to the ocean entry. They make the way thru lava tubes and eventually culminate at the ocean. The lava flow, when it happens, is mostly over multiple days. To get this shot, I planned for the morning twilight, when there is enough light to capture the surrounding and the sun is not yet out, so the lava can be captured in its beauty. Sleeping in the car at the parking lot, helped, but still had to plan for the time to actually get to the spot. Personally for me, it was such a intimate experience, shooting from the water and witnessing the raw beauty of earth being created.
For some reason this reminded me of Robert Frost. And also kindled me to scribble my own (in no way to be compared to that of Frost !!!)
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
- Robert Frost
Every end is a new beginning
Weather it is fire or ice,
it does not matter -
All that matters
Is finding that end, and beginning new
It is in realizing that you are far beyond
both the fire and the ice -
the beginning and the end.

Je voulais faire une autre photo plus compliqué mais ça n'a pas fonctionné alors je met une photo naturelle.
I wanted to make a photo concept but it didn't worked so here's a simple photo.

The 150th anniversary of the establishment of the City of Buchanan (Michigan) Fire Department was in 2012. The event was celebrated with the return of the bell that occupied the original fire house. The bell now occupies a place of honor in Fire House Park.
The following enscription is found on the bell:
Meneely & Kimberley,
Founders,
Troy, N. Y., 1876.
Unfortunately, the steps taken to protect the bell from vandalism (i.e., enclosure in plexiglass) makes it nearly impossible to take decent photos of the bell without intrusive reflections.
Taken for the "Smile on Saturday" theme of 8/15/2020: RING THE BELL.
Fire Call Conference two fireman confer on the status of the house fire in a controlled burn locally, shot in North Carolina.
Yesterday I went to Eyjafjallajökull to take a second look at the volcanic eruption.
I had gone there in a small airplane and looked at it (video from a fly by) and like I kid I just had to go back. Mother natures rage is nothing to be messed with. Seeing the molten lava fly 200 meters into the air makes one feel very small.
I set up this picture and my friend Björn took the shot for me.
