Fire breathing is the act of creating a plume of fire by breathing a stream of fuel over an open flame. It can be a dangerous activity but the proper technique and the correct fuel reduces the risk of injury. Fire breathing is performed by both professionals and non-professionals. Professional fire breathers usually incorporate the fire performance skill within a show where other fire skills are performed. The element of danger in performing fire breathing and other fire skills enhances the entertainment spectacle for many audience members
the photo is not faked, I swear it was my second time as I visited an exhibition of a Zero member that a woman walked in wearing black and red, the same red Piene used for his fire paintings ... !

After scrolling through some photos from last year, I'm ready for the change of season and the snow that comes with it.
The glint from a fiery sunset looks glazed onto the side of a Union Pacific SD70ACe tied down near Lees Cross Roads. The locomotive was the leader on a Norfolk Southern train; the crew had cut away from their tied-down train a mile back during an almost-blizzard at the beginning of 2016 and pulled up to the nearest crossing to meet their jitney home.
Do not be fooled by the illusion of the sunset on the left; it's actually reflected sunlight from below the horizon, bouncing off the clouds. At least, that's what I think this is. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The sun set at 5:38 that late winter afternoon, and this photo was taken 14 minutes later. The actual sunset is the orange smudge on the right, with the crowd of watchers who drifted westward down the beach, following. This was one of the warmest of recent days, but it was still winter, and the water was 39 degrees. And yes, the surf washed over my feet and ankles more than a few times, but it was worth it. I was smiling the whole drive home. Fire Island, NY -- February 23,

The Fire Wave, a rock formation made up of swirling pink, red and white sandstone that looks like a wave of water frozen in stone. It's a popular spot at the Valley of Fire State Park near Las Vegas.
Some days I think Winter is wonderful! But, this morning, and it's not even light yet, there are raindrops hitting the window panes, I can hear the wind moaning, and my thermometer tells me that the temperature is barely above freezing. Not a good combination for personal comfort! I found this fire, looking all cosy, at the organic shop in Daylesford too posh to push out much heat though....

Life is the fire that burns and the sun that gives light. Life is the wind and the rain and thunder in the sky. Life is matter and is earth, what is and what is not and what beyond is in eternity.

Yesterday a fire broke out in a huge storage shed within Bremen's Industrie- und Handelshafen (Industrial and Commercial Port). App 31000 m² (333681 sq ft) of the shed were destroyed by the flames. Fire fighters tried to prevent the flames from spreading to other buildings and warehouses.

This year has been particularly smokey in southeast Utah. Fires belching smoke from California, Arizona, Colorado, and within Utah have kept us indoors several days. Last night as we drove in to Moab for groceries and pears to can, we noticed a fire crawling up the side of South Mountain, 3 miles from our house. It wasn't raging and the wind was fairly calm coming from the southwest which was a good sign. It was also burning up an alluvial fan that burned 7 years ago so there wasn't much fuel. There are still some smoke coming from the steep canyons, but no active fire is visible. I am thankful for my husband who has worked tirelessly the last couple of years to chop and mow a defensible space around our house amidst the dry, dry grasses and sagebrush. Sending out a global hug to all those who have been impacted by the disasters of flood, fire, earthquakes, and disease.

Our primary source of heat is our woodstove. This is what it looks like inside when it is cooking - nice and toasty.
Sorry, I don't have anything better today. I took a few shots earlier in the day but wasn't satisfied with them.
