Fire fly (Lampyridae) - Yasuni National Park, Ecuador
I was watching this tiny fire fly wander around on the surface of a leaf. It circled the perimeter, stopped to drink from a droplet and then took flight. Luckily I was waiting and the angle was right!

Started as a spaceship concept made of pure fire. Don't know if that really comes out. But my flames are rare since the burn, so I cannot build a bigger spaceship with this concept...maybe one day...

outside the aeronautical museum at Arrecife Airport, there are several old fire extinguishers and other stuff needed to operate an airport in early times, like ground support equipment, passenger staircases and refueling equipment
The fireman of 12A gives me a friendly wave as its wood collection train rips into the climb to Emerald.
Puffing Billy's Young Volunteers Representative Team regularly organise special trains to pick up firewood, which has been cut from fallen trees into logs by the Way & Works crew. These logs are then split, dried, and used to light the fires inside the boilers each morning.
Just left work and saw massive amount of black smoke not that far away, so me being me had to find out what it was. Don't know how it started but 4 fields of crops have burnt out, there was fire engines all over there were spread out over 3/4 mile. It was big. I caught the tail end of it.

This night fire broke out in our shopping mall, I just had a look and I have no words for this.... my hearth goes out to all the people who had their shop there.... every shop is lost, luckily nobody got hurt, even the pets in the petsshop were saved in time....
29 years ago there was also a fire in the same mall, but now it is totally gone!
Yesterday I did my last shopping there.... strange idea....

My south facing windows look out on the Chugach Mountain Range. Little by little my beautiful view has been spoiled by the smoke from forest fires. This afternoon I looked out to see the fire sweeping through yet another portion of the mountain range. The winds are whipping in from the southeast - and yet the fire is moving up the mountains to the east. We are several miles from the fire, with the Tazlina River between us and the flames. All we can do is hope for rain - until then our lungs and sinuses are really suffering.
