Yesterday from I25. Fire at La Joya. Taken from 5 miles away. Fortunately, overnight it has been contained. 300 acres (1/2 sq. mile) burned. So far the reason for the fire unknown.

Until I recently visited I had not appreciated the damage to Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve caused by a fire a few weeks ago. Three quarters of the region around the lake was totally destroyed. However, life is starting to return - note the bits of fresh green growth in the foreground

Just left work and saw massive amount of black smoke not that far away, so me being me had to find out what it was. Don't know how it started but 4 fields of crops have burnt out, there was fire engines all over there were spread out over 3/4 mile. It was big. I caught the tail end of it.
This is the area of the Rough Fire that ravaged through Kings Canyon National Park in California last year. It burned over 150,000 acres of land and churned out a large amount of smoke. There were many days when we were told the air was unhealthy to breath.
They just opened this part of the park back up and I took off to check it out. I was amazed at the amount of damage the fire caused, but also by the beauty that nature has put in its place. The wildflowers had taken over the mountainsides where there used to be trees. It was really a wonderful sight to see. Mother Nature is taking care of herself.

Camp fire in the snow at Lochan Lareig Cheile at the top of Glen Ogle.
6 hours later eight inches of snow had disappeared due to storm Doris and the loch had risen by 5 feet.
Used 3 different Apps to get this effect.
The station officer has arrived at Brunswych Fire Station in his Woody, as four enthusiasts await a turn out. The crew are out of sight completing their risk critical daily checks
I noticed that the 'Flickr Friday' subject was fire and flame, and it reminded me that I had some shots from the summer... Here a theatre troupe were animating an early summer market in a medieval village.

Working for my last Christmas gifts. I don`t like it, when someone makes a shot of me and so there are not a lot. Specially thats the wish of some friends. I am looking for the right light first and I have had a lot of fun with this balls : ))) but I haven`t a portrait yet.
