en fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at a block of maisonettes in Lyon Park Avenue, Wembley.
Half of the roof of the property and part of a four-roomed maisonette on the first floor were damaged by fire. A neighbouring single-storey, detached car workshop and three cars were also destroyed by the blaze. Around 12 people left the maisonettes before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters remained at the scene overnight to extinguish remaining hotspots.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 18 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 0157 and the fire was under control by 0424. Fire crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Acton, Northolt and surrounding stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
1836 Green Street Philadelphia, PA.
12-15-07 - 1836 Green Street Fatal Dwelling
A box was transmitted in Philadelphia at 1836 Green Street for a reported fire at a boarding home around 4 am in the Fairmount section of the city.Battalion 3 arrived and reported a building 16x45 with heavy fire showing. Battalion 3 struck the all hands as he confirmed people trapped. Companies arrived and went in operation with multiple hand lines as the Truck Companies laddered the building. Crews rescued 3 occupants from the dwelling. 2 occupants were in critical condition and one was pounced.Police and Fire Marshals investigated the fire and declared it as an arson fire. Police made one arrest of a 24 year old male responsible for setting the fire.The dwelling housed approx 12 occupants who were in their 50’s- 60’s and mentally and physically handicapped.

When I was leaving Bonnyville today I was detoured off mainstreet due to a fire in the "Install It" shop. The fire was pretty well out (just a little bit of smoke still coming out of the roof). The RCMP has the street blocked but a restaurant parking lot across the street was full of onlookers and of course I had to join them to take some pictures. Never know when I might need them for MSH group
