... in a cold night

Just a morning walk... NON HDR

keep your fire burning -

have a great sunday !!

I visited state 47/48 this weekend and the cold, rainy weather meant I got warm and cozy in a ski lodge with this awesome fire!

No Sky replacement here , as seen honest

Fire animation. Several people could not see the animation, so I put a copy of the animated version below.

The fires are still burning and the evacuees still in the city (Winnipeg). This is a scene that we are "used to seeing" downtown, but not in the suburbs. Until now. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The really sad part is that when the snow comes or the fires are out? There may be nothing left for them to go back to. So what happens next?

this fire broke out at an old mill at 2am...no one was hurt but the flames lit the morning sky for hours....

Theres always fire in you... Sometimes less, sometimes more... But its still there... Just fuel it...

Even without any knowledge of the Dutch language you can guess what "Brandweer" means. Mark how the iron capitals are beautifully crafted in a classic font, perhaps art deco style.

Excellent L&P to add to the Lines and Planes series.

It's about surprising compositions in the everyday, a special view of buildings, interiors ... lines made abstract.

More wildflowers from our hike in the park this week.

Sunset landscape of the River Dão. The clouds that can be seen are not normal clouds, but smoke from surrounding fires

"You make me feel like I can fly, So high! "

Out of my ongoing series based on New York fire escapes (see the album).

I found this clump of Fireweed in front of a burned tree. This tree and countess others burned in the Cameron Peak Fire in 2020. This ended up being the largest wildfire in Colorado history.

i was burning some limbs that were broken off in the last storm.

Have a great week!

Let's play a sad song

The Fire by Daniel Arrhakis (2014-2015)

- This is photographic work. The base photo was taken in Quinta Do Relógio, Sintra (Portugal) .

The Monk silhouette figure was based in the Sculpture by Katharina Fritsch "The Monk" (1997-99).

Okay, the smallest 'figure' (second from the left) is totally Photoshopped. But other than that, the rest of the photograph is actual SOOC flames inside my cottage fireplace. See additional flame photos adjacent to the link below:

If it doesn't set your soul on fire, it's not worth the burn.

As fellow photographer Phil Kuntz commented, this "Seems to be the new 'normal' in the PNW [Pacific Northwest]" If you live near or travel through the densely forested regions of the western United States, you know that wildfires and forest fires have been a major concern during the past few summers. And they seem to be getting more numerous and wide-spread with each passing year. This particular forest fire was in the beautiful Okanogan National Forest in the state of Washington. Even though I was driving with my windows up, I wore a mask for an hour when the smoke became extremely thick and hazardous. I drove well into the night before I was able to finally get away from it.

I can still "smell" the smoke when I see this image. Let's hope this coming summer is better!

So I went outside to take pictures and get some nice Vitamin D to fight this stupid cold and the Jerks that live behind us are burning their leaves and the smoke is coming right into our yard :( Sucks so much they can do that here.

So this was it, One miserable picture ;) I can't bring myself to change her out of this awesome outfit, it just suits her so much <3
