Finding Circles

I do enjoy a burrito with some avocado from time to time. It's a nice and very filling breakfast.

Sometimes you have to strip yourself down before you can build yourself up again.

Hello Flickr!

I'm back...

We had some quality time in Brasil for almost a month. I wish I was still there and I'm sure Matt would say the same thing but time goes fast when we wish it goes slow, right?

Here we are again. I'm back with my camera loaded of good sweet moments and my heart already counting to go back there again and be with my family...I can't put in words my happiness to be around my mom, sister and all the others after almost 2 years.

This shot was taken there...have I already said that I wanna go back?

My soul was needing this escape.

Pigeon Point State Beach. Pescadero, California USA

Nope, I didn't see my shadow this weekend.

old style ish?

new style ish?

Last couple of days and the nice weather has seen a few bees coming in to feed on some of my flowering shrubs. This one if you look very closely has a little bubble coming from its mouth.

Orion, my Vizsla (Hungarian Pointer), doing Fall work.

Not had a lot of time to do any Photography recently.. If I work the morning shift, I miss the sunrise and I always find myself occupied in the afternoon which prevents me from going to a location for sunset.

Thursday, however, I managed to get out for a drive up to the Lammemuir hills. There was a particular viewpoint I had my eye on and wanted to visit it.

On my way to the viewpoint I saw the golden light from the sun on the hills and this tree and thought it was worth stopping for.

I was lucky I stopped here as I eventually got to my destination only to find the sun was in the wrong position and there was no place to park the car (at least within decent walking distance)

This was one of the few shots I got that night but managed to get a few yesterday morning on my visit to the coast which I will upload later..

Dead Wood Brings New Life

Hard to believe, but trees can actually provide more habitats for wildlife dead than when they are alive. Standing dead and dying trees, called “snags” or “wildlife trees,” are important for wildlife in both natural and landscaped settings, occurring as a result of disease, lightning, fire, animal damage, too much shade, drought, root competition, as well as old age.

Birds, small mammals, and other wildlife use snags for nests, nurseries, storage areas, foraging, roosting, and perching. Live trees with snag-like features, such as hollow trunks, excavated cavities, and dead branches can provide similar wildlife value. Snags occurring along streams and shorelines eventually may fall into the water, adding important woody debris to aquatic habitat.

Dead branches are often used as perches; snags that lack limbs are often more decayed and, may have more and larger cavities for shelter and nesting. Snags enhance local natural areas by attracting wildlife species that may not otherwise be found there.

All trees of all sizes are potential snags. Unfortunately, many wildlife trees are cut down without much thought to their wildlife value or of the potential management options that can safely prolong the existence of the tree. Wildlife trees offer a one-stop, natural habitat feature. In short, snags “live on” as excellent wildlife trees for all to enjoy!

Can I just say that in this song was exactly what I heard when in the woods taking photos. I just thought I'd share that with you all. When I was standing there, under the trees, I kept thinking of the movie August Rush. A quote in that movie always stays with me "Can you hear it? The music. I can hear it everywhere. In the wind... in the air... in the light. It's all around us. All you have to do is open yourself up. All you have to do... is listen. "

I felt so small under the branches of the trees. We were part of an audience, the wind was the composer, and the trees played every single note with soft rustles.

Passing a snow bridge on Ecchuudantai river near Mt.Ochiai, Minami-Furano, Hokkaido.

We went to the Sealife centre in Brighton today for some school holiday out and about fun.

First of all we parked along the seafront and the parking charges are absolutely disgusting, around 5 pounds for 2 hours WTF !

Anyway we had a nice but short (due to parking charges) walk around checking out all the fish.

I grabbed a few shots with a lot being hit or miss (mainly miss) due to the low light.

I had to up the ISO to around 1250-1600 and then rely upon VRII to try and get a couple of useable shots.

I don't normally go above ISO 400 on my camera as you can really notice that grain.

I would love to upgrade to a Nikon D800 as the useable high ISO's of around 3200-6400 would have brilliant for this situation.

I can dream can't I.

Even though Nemo is a little blurry I really like this shot which has a nice arty vibrant feel.

Oh and sorry for the original picture name lol.
