It was there!

From my trip to the Sunshine Coast, this was taken at Kings Beach.

Note the rocks are very slippery here, I went down 3 times, I didn't find it too funny but a few people on the cliff behind me did! :-)

Photo is 6 exposures tonemapped in Photomatix.

Did some shading, unmask sharpening and saturation in PS.

North Leverton Windmill this evening.

I don't normally shoot star trails this long as I usually nearly die of boredom waiting for the sequence to finish. But when you're in good company with high quality banter, the time just flies by!

This is 223 x 30 second exposures before my battery died....

Mons

Nouvelle gare | New station

---------------

Located near the centre of the city of Mons, the station was opened in 1841 by the Belgian State Railways and has been rebuilt three times since then.

The third building, which dated from 1952, was demolished in 2013 to be gradually replaced by a new station, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava; the budget, planned at 37 million euros in 2006, reached 480 million in 2024 (at the end of the construction), i.e. 13 times the initial amount.

In August 2023, the end of the work on the new station (originally planned for early 2015) was announced for February 2024. In May 2024, the construction site "neared its end".

The new station was finally opened on 18 December 2024 and will be inaugurated on 31 January 2025.

Spring has finally reached Scotland! I haven't been out with my camera for months but today along The Hermitage walk, near Dunkeld, I spotted this little web. It's my fav photo of the day.

finally, something interesting for today

it was just to warm up my computer

it's raining in Nice

With towering bins of every shape, size, make and model, EIRR's East Belt job is approaching the end of the line in Newdale, ID. The two units tasked with plowing the line open earlier in the day are now in charge of a small train of 7 or so cars. At a glance you would think this location would drum up significant business, but that is rarely the case. The main customer, a fresh pack potato shipper to the right of the frame, maybe ships a few reefers a month. Grain is even more sparse. Customer service is impressive for this local shortline. The day before this picture was taken 2 company trucks had gotten stuck attempting to reopen the line with the plow train. This day was more successful. I think most modern RR management would have the words "ABANDON" ringing viciously in their heads.

After spotting the empties, they will return light power back to at least Ririe, ID. From this location, the other EIRR job on the Yellowstone line could be heard chirping away.. I decided to drive West to see if I could intercept them back to Idaho Falls.

Been chasing this guy for months but he's always been too far, even with my telephoto. Finally, as I walked out the door to the deck, there he was, as close as he's ever been on a bush branch, seemingly ready for his close up.

Finally a good day in Portobello... had so many of those messy melancholic days...

Easy family outing to the Spitzingsee.

A tour to Obere Firstalm and then a toboggan slide down.

Thanks to JoesSistah for this great texture!

finally I have created the look I am after. great light and shadow game.

After spending most of the day sitting on the main & even having a yard crew use for a little to switch the train, M841 departs Etowah with the 3194 on the point. 9-18-22

Storm Jocelyn passed through yesterday and Rob and I decided to head west to find some post-storm light. With the wind dying down around midday it was disappointing to find most of Inverpolly and Assynt blanketed in low, grey clouds. We eventually broke through the clag heading north to Stoer Point where it was almost a blue-sky day at the lighthouse. After a while having some fun capturing the stormy seas we again reversed course and headed back into a still cloudy Assynt to some potential sunset locations. We had spotted these oft photographed islands in Loch Assynt on the way up and liked the way the islands were pretty much submerged by the high water so it was great to see a glimse of the sun as it finally broke below the cloud and 10 minutes later, disappear behind the hills. This is a 3 image exposure blend to deal with the extreme dynamic range.

Dudes, I'm seriously glad Ezra & Aria are no more. They got annoying. I ship most of the ships on Pretty Little Liars and shit, but NOT them.

I blame fanfic.

Anyway, now that I'm done with my very short rant, I'm going to ask you guys a question...

What's your favorite PLL couple? I seriously want to know. xD I'm just curious.

My favorite is probably Lucas/Hanna right now... or Wilden/Hanna... or Sean/Hanna. Hanna's my favorite, obviously.

I finally got the shot I have been trying for since Minty was a little puppy. This small blue and white basketball has been in our house since my youngest son was about seven, he is 39 now! None of our other dogs ever had much interest in it. It is the only ball Minty is interested in. She can't pick it up so she either pounces on it or jumps over it and kicks it with her back legs. She gets very intense every time we play with it.

We finally had some snow this past weekend and it has been cold enough that the snow is still light and fluffy. She had a great time playing with it as I snapped away. My hands nearly froze but I finally got my shot.

finally set up a little store for all your oder merch :P sticker packs and a canvas up right now, therell be things up here and there.

Took longer than expected to get it done. An Ileus sent me to hospital. Doctors suggested that I should rest a couple of weeks afterwards.

so i finally get the all-systems-go signal from my lovely s-i-l, bahar (hubby's baby sister) and so i excitedly share my first official portrait session!

see, we've been playing this let's-pretend-we're-in-a-photo-shoot! game for a while now ( i love bahar set) and we're always amazed at how fabulously her photos turn-out. it helps, of course, that she's so dang gorgeous! (and kikay, too! HEE.)

so may i present to you, Beautiful Bahar and my first *cough* portrait session!

TADAAAAH!!!

(sssshh...still don't know much of what i'm doing - obvious ba sa properties? - technically speaking that is, and that's all fine with me. just *click-click*snap*snapping, we didn't even have enough day-light as it was raining that day - ACK! - but laughing all the way i think helped big time. it took bahar and i forever to get into that mood. kikay sisters eh.)

if this we're music, this would be called oido playing. voila! oido photography.

So, we finally got to a computer that was capable of running the Spore Creature Creator. We've only used the free trial edition at this point, but, as expected, Sophia and Enzo created a series of interesting creatures. See some of them in this set. My personal favorites are Whale, Human and Pickle (my name for that one).

Balloon is my favorite of all – in no small part because The Red Balloon was one of my favorite films while growing up and is still in my top ten. I haven't seen this one yet though.

Spore Creature Creator is now highly recommended by us and we are all looking forward to playing the game Spore (more here) when it is released in September. By then we will have upgraded our operating system and should have no problem.

The D-Day tribute unit leads ethanol train CP 528 as it approaches North Jct with a nice multimarked buffer car up front. It took me almost two years to finally shoot CP 6644, the last CP military unit that I hadn't shot till today.

Dropped out t Killalea reserve to see the art installations today ... some great works on display I thought I'd share my interpretation of them..

I finally finished another MOC! This one was in the works for over a year! I built on it from time to time, but never had the time to really make a lot of progress in one building session. Hense why it took me over a year to finish it :D When I first started building I didn’t know where to go with it. I made the wall Cal is wallrunning on and I went from there. At first I also wanted to include a Stormtrooper with a minigun, a Wookiee and a Rebel Trooper but quickly realized that it would get to crowded 😄 I hope you enjoy the MOC though. I’m glad I finally managed to post something again. I plan on building some more stuff that’s not Star Wars related next year. Still Star Wars as well ofcourse! :D

Finally managed to get out and do a bit of macro photography

Finally, we got our broadband connection installed in our new apartment today.

We have settled in pretty well in our new home here at Livingston. Although it feels very different living here compared to London, I guess we will learn how to appreciate quieter, more peaceful life here in Scotland.

Haven't taken any shots here in Scotland yet. We will shop for a car very soon. It will be much easier to go around Scotland with a car. Will catch up with your photostream really soon.

Cheers! :)

"Time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind." - Nathaniel Hawthorne

Finally made it to the end of this insane week. The fast pace and chaotic mood that started Monday didn't taper off as the week continued and up until quitting time today things were piling up and getting left behind as more pressing matters would arise.

Fingers crossed that with a few of the key players of the office away next week I'll have the chance to catch up, because honestly when it was time to leave I just locked up and walked away. I was not staying late on Friday.

When I shot my photo on Monday, I figured I'd end the week with this, and as the madness continued to build the more suiting this seemed to become. Also, as a side note; for anyone wanting to try this, be warned, writing with beans can be a pain and a little time consuming!

Hope everyone has had a good day.
