I have finally been able to try Marina's (Photo Mama) ACR settings....love them to pieces! This one is mellow maitai...

Congress finally appropriated $20,000 for a lighthouse at Port Sanilac in 1885, and a site was selected and purchased. After specifications for the necessary metalwork were prepared, a contract was entered into, and the lantern room and spiral staircase were delivered to the Detroit lighthouse depot on October 1, 1885. Charles Diem, the contractor charged with erecting the brick tower and keeper’s dwelling, commenced work on June 7, 1886, and by the end of that month had made excavations for the structures, had put in place the concrete foundation for the dwelling and a portion of the four-feet-thick concrete foundation for the tower, and had laid about one-half of the stone foundation walls for the dwelling. The tower, dwelling, privy, and oil house were completed on October 13, 1886, and the station’s fixed white light, produced by a fourth-order, Barbier & Fenestre Fresnel lens, was placed in operation a week later on October 20, 1886. The work of grading, filling, and sodding the grounds, along with building a perimeter fence, laying sidewalks, and digging and lining a well was finished on October 23.

Situated 130 feet from the lakeshore, octagonal Port Sanilac Lighthouse stands fifty-nine feet tall and is connected to the nearby two-story keeper’s by a covered passageway. The eight-room dwelling had two, 2,200-gallon brick cisterns built beneath its kitchen that were used to collect rainwater for domestic use. Ile aux Galets Lighthouse is the only tower that resembles the one at Port Sanilac.

finally have the new website up....about time.

I used 5 lenses to shoot the comet and the best was the 50mm f1.8... again this lens amazes me!!

Finally got my internet back on. Back in business!

A just in case shot. Now you know the rest of the story.

It was there!

From my trip to the Sunshine Coast, this was taken at Kings Beach.

Note the rocks are very slippery here, I went down 3 times, I didn't find it too funny but a few people on the cliff behind me did! :-)

Photo is 6 exposures tonemapped in Photomatix.

Did some shading, unmask sharpening and saturation in PS.

Finally got the prints back from the BW I took the night of some very low cloud cover that just seemed to be touching the top of this flag pole. No flash used. This was the result of a spotlight on the flag.

Taken with a Minolta SRT201 with Ilford ISO 400 Professional BW film.

Finally visited this iconic castle, it is a fifteen minute walk through a very beautiful wooded area, and then around the corner you suddenly see this fantastic image appear before your eyes, a fairy tale, it was not the best lighting conditions and the autumn colors were almost gone but I am happy with this picture and I intend to return again.....

Finally a proper photo of the wonderful Natalie, who I was very lucky to meet and become friends with this December! We went out last week after classes and had lots of fun twirling in dresses and eating bagels (what else is new, heheh) ♥

You guys should check out her stream, she's doing an awesome 365!

HOPE YOU'RE ALL HAVING A HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!

Love you guys <3

Finally I had luck and the maksutov didn't let me down! This is a derotated image, I've used 10 videos, stacked them and derotated them in WinJupos.

About 15 mins worth of imaging squeezed into one photo. The GRS looks majestic as always :)

Equipment and other details on the photo.

Minolta Autocord, Kodak Portra 400 (Rolleinar 2).

I finally had the CN heritage unit that matters to me, leading a train of mine. WC painted 3069 for this former WC employee on the point of 93 cars loaded with corn heading to Canada. Unfortunately, the sun was damn near straight down the tracks when the only opportunity during my trip to grab a shot in the daytime (late afternoon) presented itself.

Mons

Nouvelle gare | New station

---------------

Located near the centre of the city of Mons, the station was opened in 1841 by the Belgian State Railways and has been rebuilt three times since then.

The third building, which dated from 1952, was demolished in 2013 to be gradually replaced by a new station, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava; the budget, planned at 37 million euros in 2006, reached 480 million in 2024 (at the end of the construction), i.e. 13 times the initial amount.

In August 2023, the end of the work on the new station (originally planned for early 2015) was announced for February 2024. In May 2024, the construction site "neared its end".

The new station was finally opened on 18 December 2024 and will be inaugurated on 31 January 2025.

We finally got to visit the windmill which is one of the biggest in Norfolk. It is quite difficult to get to as there is no road and unless you have a boat which we don't it is a six mile round trip walk although there is a tiny railway request stop fairly nearby. I was really impressed by the size of the mill so it was well worth the walk.

Been chasing this guy for months but he's always been too far, even with my telephoto. Finally, as I walked out the door to the deck, there he was, as close as he's ever been on a bush branch, seemingly ready for his close up.

Thanks to JoesSistah for this great texture!

This is my hand

Take it now it’s yours to keep

These are my eyes

Look into them and you’ll see

How a rainbow needs the rain

Or it will never shine again

It’s the same for you and me

These are my footsteps

Falling surely next to yours

This is the moment

That we’ve been waiting for

It’s our story now to tell

Raise the curtain, ring the bell

And open up the doors

Hey, altogether we will be

We’re forever you and me

Hey, the sun will show us where to go

Love will give us heart and soul

And take us home

These are my arms

Come to them when you’re cold

This is my shoulder

Rest your head and dream of home

For there’ll be nights and there’ll be days

It seems a long, long ways away

But we’ll make it now I know

We are trying to get out of the deep darkness in Europe ... perhaps Christmas Light will show us the right way to take back our future.

Cascades 1st dusting of snow - September 19th

Storm Jocelyn passed through yesterday and Rob and I decided to head west to find some post-storm light. With the wind dying down around midday it was disappointing to find most of Inverpolly and Assynt blanketed in low, grey clouds. We eventually broke through the clag heading north to Stoer Point where it was almost a blue-sky day at the lighthouse. After a while having some fun capturing the stormy seas we again reversed course and headed back into a still cloudy Assynt to some potential sunset locations. We had spotted these oft photographed islands in Loch Assynt on the way up and liked the way the islands were pretty much submerged by the high water so it was great to see a glimse of the sun as it finally broke below the cloud and 10 minutes later, disappear behind the hills. This is a 3 image exposure blend to deal with the extreme dynamic range.

yay, my second tattoo..a little puzzle :)

and can't wait to make the next!

how are you guys? I hope fine.

take care my flickr friends

Finally was able to update my golden glider with parts from disco Robin and Batgirl. Been waiting to finish her off for a while now. Obviously the fig is based more on her new 52/rebirth look.

Finally started doing a little series I've always dreamed of doing! xx

Dudes, I'm seriously glad Ezra & Aria are no more. They got annoying. I ship most of the ships on Pretty Little Liars and shit, but NOT them.

I blame fanfic.

Anyway, now that I'm done with my very short rant, I'm going to ask you guys a question...

What's your favorite PLL couple? I seriously want to know. xD I'm just curious.

My favorite is probably Lucas/Hanna right now... or Wilden/Hanna... or Sean/Hanna. Hanna's my favorite, obviously.
