Grady's favorite heritage unit was finally released from Altoona a couple months ago and has found a home on the Atlanta to KC pair of intermodals. Our schedule finally aligned and we had a nice late evening chase of the eastbound 223 on the Southern West District. NS 8098 catches some backlighting on a bit of northeast orientation in the small town of Albers, IL.

I'd tried to shoot one of these Bow coal trains here twice prior and struck out both times. The first I waited in this very spot only to have them tie down at CP45. The second time I was on the parking garage on the south side of the station for the morning view of them curving away only to have them stop at the very last minute when Pan Am refused the train much to the chagrin of CSXT's NC dispatcher in Jacksonville.
But yesterday it all came together finally! My original plan was to chase the Pan Am OCS east and I drove to Erving after work and had a great spot set up beside the Millers River only to have Pan Am cancel the train and park it at East Deerfield at the last minute. Once my main plan fell thru I drove to Northfield to intercept NECR 611 which I chased down to Millers Falls with an unspectacular consist in less than ideal light. After doing what I could with them I turned back east to Gardner hoping to intercept P&W's WOGR working. But they were early and half way back south to Worcester by the time I got to Gardner so I turned south since I was frustrated at this point.
Knowing a loaded coal train was somewhere in Worcester I hopped off I190 on the way south to see if anything was parked up north of Barbers. I saw nothing but a Pan Am track car hirailing north on the Worcester main so knew they must still be at CP45. In no hurry I headed to the Dunkin drive thru next to the tracks for an iced coffee. As soon as I pulled out I heard the NC dispatcher talk to a train asking for a light up to Barbers at CP45...
I figured this might be them and didn't want to take any chances so zipped down as fast as I could, parked on Foster St. and sprinted across the street and up the stairs to the top of the St. Vincent's garage.
Not five minutes later the Y120 yard crew curled around the corner off CSXT's Boston Sub (the ex B&A) and on to P&W's Gardner Branch on former B&M rails heading to the junction with Pan Am at Barbers. Here they are with an N618 unit coal train curving around along the west side of the 1911 Worcester Union station by the platforms that once served trains of the B&M and New Haven and across the elevated viaduct over Front St. that is lettered for the Providence & Worcester.
The most sharp eyed observer my notice an Amfleet coach barely visible to the left of the station and immediately above the CSX lettering on the lead unit. This is westbound train 449 stuck here due to a disabled westbound freight Q427 ahead of them on the single track west of CP48.

112 - One Hundred and Twelve when written on a cheque (who has seen one of them in the last decade).
Finally I find a number 112 to continue my Flickr Numbers Project.
No guesses as to the significance of the natural number 112 which has a very specific dialling purpose in Spain and other European countries. Though if you dial 112 in the UK you will get the same result and be connected to the emergency services.
112 is also the atomic number for Copericum
112 is the code for the offence of Lese Majeste (insulting the monach) in Thailand, where Lese Majeste is taken very very seriously.
112 is the number of surat al-Ikhlas in the Qur'an
Wikipedea lists 42 highways listed number 112.

I finally saw the latest crop of coyote (coy-wolf) pups in Sedgewick Forest today when they ventured into the sunshine for a play session. I counted 6 youngsters (see 3rd photo). Walking with a neighbour dog walker this evening, he was talking to someone who tallied up 9 pups! Cute at this stage, but I'm not sure that we will be looking forward to that many hungry mouths to feed given Cole's close encounter back in February.
Finally made it out tonight. Out with a friend for desserts and getting caught up. It was her turn to buy so that was the cherry on top of the cake, if I was having cake, which I wasn't...because Keystone right???
HONEY: "I wonder where Emmet is? I haven't seen him since Halloween. The full moon is shining so beautifully today."
Finally I get a chance to visit my photostream. I have been busy with the projects lately. To my flickr friends, I will catch up your photstream soon.
I was lucky to get this picture from the close front. It's probably busy chewing its breakfast.
Finally, a chance to shoot AVMT's Voith Volvo B7TL Wright Eclipse Gemini LF52ZNK! It wasn't actually meant to be running today, instead it's sister LF52ZPP. However when I looked in the depot earlier ZPP was in the workshop, thus explaining why ZNK was out today.
Here it is running the 1520 885 short to Colyton.
This one usually only runs schooldays and does simply two 885 journeys to accommodate school kids.

Finally, after one year from the first buildings, my microcity Meribia is complete! The whole creation is 75 x 51 studs big (53 x 41 cm) ; 6 are the dstricts; 72 is the total number of buildings and 40 are the single different types of buildings. But Microcity Meribia, is also a diorama, and soon you'll see it...
Today I arrived at my parents' house just before the sun went down. I needed a little cheer me up time with my girls and took two of them out in the garden to get the first pics in real snow for this winter :) The sun was a little crazy sometimes :)
Have been living in the outback of Australia for 15 years. It rains maybe a few times in a year god willing, sometimes not at all. The fields are dry, food and water for stock has to be purchased. I named the image "Finally" as a storm at the time when the picture was taken, was on the horizon. It rained
