Bandai TIE Fighter kit. My first foray back into plastic models in a very long time, and my first time airbrushing.
He got out and got into his first Kitty Fight. He's been pretty pissed since he found out that, unlike KC who he grew up sparring with inside, outside cats have CLAWS.
:(
Every summer Sam's face gets like this from fighting. He lives to fight, and get mice and birds. I've seen packs of birds actually dive-bombing him when he goes outside. Sometimes, me thinks he is a menace. LOL.... During the winter his face heals up completely because it's way to cold for him to go out. Ah, but Alas, summer will arrive again only to start the cycle over again!
Yes, he's vaccinated and yes he has ointment I have to put on his face :o)

I took this photo at the Arizona Humane Society where I volunteer. I went in and took a key and walk around the kennels taking photos of the various dogs that were unfortunate enough to somehow end up there one way or another. This was a dog that I had been just brought in, he was a previous fight dog. Being a pit bull many times dogs like him get looked over because they have such a bad reputation, but I know from experience that pit bulls are some of the sweetest dogs to be around and only want to have a family to love them.
Editing for this photo was a 2 step process. I opened the photo in Photoshop making it black and white and doing minor, remedial changes. I then saved it and proceeded to open it in Lightroom where I changed the lights, darks, black, whites, and amped up the clarity quite a bit to bring out the fur. I also lightened the eyes so they would stand out more. The final step was adding a medium vignette to the photo to further draw the eye in.
The texture of the fur and the stark white of the fight scars create a nice contrast in the photo and creates the tone that this dog has been through quite a lot. The look in his eyes though shows the frightened state of mind and that all he wants is to go home with someone.
